LIVE THREAD:Trump rally in Atlanta 2/21/2016 @ 4:00 (EST) Georgia World Congress Center

Posted on 02/21/2016 7:41:50 AM PST by nikos1121

Sunday, February 21, 2016: GOP Presidential candidate Donald Trump will hold a campaign rally in Atlanta, GA at the Georgia World Congress Center. The event is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM EST.

I live in LaGrange,GA only 52 miles from the area. I have tickets to attend, but I'm told already that lines are forming for the 4:00pm event.

In our local mall there is a mural size black and white photograph of John Kennedy in a convertible, riding through downtown LaGrange in October 10, 1960 for a campaign stop. At the time, there were roughly 23,000 people living here.

From here they drove to The Little White House, FDR's vaction home, in Warm Spring's, GA where he gave another speech.

Our airport is now bigger, and we have a tad more people, almost 35,000. So, I'll probably skip the Atlanta function today, unless I can hire a "place holder," and instead send an invite, via this posting to the Trump Team to consider LaGrange, GA for a campaign stop, on the way to Fort Benning, in Columbus. If it was good enough for Jack in 1960, it should be good enough for Donald in 2015.

IF ANYONE HAS ANY IN ROADS TO THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN PLEASE LINK THIS NEW THREAD TO THEM. I THANK YOU.

I’m hearing “brokered convention”. I don’t know what this is - if it’s not too much trouble, can someone tell me what this means, in a nutshell?

Delegates only bound to vote once for whoever won them. After that they are free to vote for RI Os

I just came across this on another thread and thought it good to save:

If Republicans head to Cleveland with no candidate securing a majority of delegates (every political pundit’s daydream), and a brokered convention comes to fruition,
The Party’s Rule 40 states:

(b) Each candidate for nomination for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States shall demonstrate the support of a majority of the delegates from each of eight (8) or more states, severally, prior to the presentation of the name of that candidate for nomination

If Trump wins 8 or more “winner take all” states, and no other candidate has passed the 8-state threshold, then Trump may show up at the convention as the ONLY candidate who is allowed to be voted on in the first round.

Levin and Limbaugh must be on Suicide Watch.

Levin on Monday will be spitting and spewing so badly he'll sound incoherent!

>>>Cruz was asked if Texas was a “must win.” He would not answer that, or basically said “no.”<<<

That gives me pause that he may not even win reelection as a Senator, much less winning a Nationwide Contest.

I'm a Cruz guy first, but I am beginning to think that it may not be his time, especially with Marco Rubio beating him last night.

He might have done better going after Marco rather than focusing on Trump. I know I'm not the first to say that here, but it is becoming clear that his strategy isn't working.

I am a bit disappointed to say the least since I can't stand Marco. That being said, whoever wins the Republican Nomination gets my Vote and thank goodness JEB! dropped out. It would have made it a lot harder for me to pull the handle if he ended up as the Nominee.

I don’t understand why the pundits are talking about a brokered convention at this point. If it depends on no one candidate having a majority of delegates, there’s certainly nothing to make them think that’s going to happen here.

I suspect it may be wishful thinking, but I admit I don’t know that much about it.

Rush will just double-down on Rubio. He’s on the anyone-but-Trump train and isn’t going to switch to Trump because of the silly voters.

Nope, doesn’t matter what the people want, the GOP including Rush and Levin are desperate to stop us.

I’m so disappointed in Rush. The only rational argument he may have for being anyone-but-Trump is that he’s always been a staunch conservative and switching to being a “common sense conservative” would feel like being dishonest. Having said that, how can he possibly defend a member of the Gang of Eight?

I’ve turned off both Rush and Levin-—and the longer I go without hearing them, the better I feel. I doubt I’ll return to their audiences even after the primaries.
