I do not dislike Cruz, but there are Cruz FANATICS on FR that are very, very hard to take. In defense, a lot of normal folk end up sounding like Cruz haters, when they are really just being defensive.

I agree with that. I've made no bones that while I am a Trump supporter, Cruz is my #2 pick should Trump somehow fall out of contention. But that is not good enough for some of the Cruz supporters. It's all or nothing with them and they are very bitter and disdainful towards anybody supporting Trump.

They are not winning hearts and minds with their tactics.

Jim posted two days ago he would be voting for Cruz in CA’s primary. This is not a Trump site as many of you suggest when you question the absence of Cruz fans who are watching and waiting, not engaging Trump fans nastily.

Dang I'm glad these fellow "conservatives" and FReepers can't reach through the internet connection - it'd be a bloody mess. Sadness. Not sure the Left has this kind of problem do they? I mean do they hate and attack each other as viciously as they do here, on the Right?

I personally believe it's because Satan himself is involved in the bad-faith part of the arguments here. Why? Because the Right is Satan's only political adversary - the Right actually fights for Christian values and freedom. So he pits the Right against itself. There are valid and important issues and distinctions on the Right but I think its the level of the acrimony that's hurtful and damaging and that is Satan's playground.

But what I just said can also be used to damage the freedoms and limited gov't the Right SHOULD be standing for because once you start hearing calls for "unity" that invariably means the left side stays put and the right side moves over. I hate that.

To me, the only answer is Jesus Christ and our reliance and dependence on Him, not reliance on man and his gov't. The more we trust in God, the byproduct will be a closer unity of mind and purpose.
