I will tell you where Cruz lost it and Trump won it.
At the Debate, Cruz blew right by Carson. Trump stopped and stood with him to share the discomfort. Cruz comes across as a putz, Trump as a class act.
Optics matter in political campaigns, add that, the whole Iowa thing and that Trump is the only other non politican in the races and Cruz is going to have a very very hard time getting the Carson people
Take a look at his profile page. Sure looks like he’s been zotted.
I clicked on his homepage and it still seems to be active.
With 99.9% of the votes counted it looks like Rubio came in 2nd by 1000 votes. Amazing, he got the endorsement of all the leading Republicans in the state and couldn’t get over the finish line.
Amazing that a non-politician (Trump) essentially ran the whole state in every demographic. SC was Cruz’s firewall with all the evangelicals. He pulled the Marjoe and came up short.

I wonder if Trump and Carson are running something? Carson is staying in which helps Trump. When Carson was leading in Iowa, maybe it was planned that Trump take him out. It was so theatrical by Trump and Carson just sort of shrugged it off with a smile. Maybe there is something there. Carson really doesn’t want to be president, but maybe sell books...he would take a cabinet positiion or Surgeon General...

Sometimes, well, often actually, I think Cruz is too clever for his own good.
I cannot imagine myself giving a concession speech and not congratulating the winner right up front, especially after the winner congratulated me on how well I’d done! Which Trump did.
I must admit, Trump is one of the most curious examples of rough and tumble one moment, and classy the next, that I’ve ever seen.
