Two grown men running for president met in a storage closet last night. The meeting, called by Ted Cruz in an attempt to mend fences with Ben Carson ahead of the South Carolina primary, was held on Thursday night before the Conservative Review convention. The two huddled in the unusual venue for nearly 20 to 25 minutes, as Carson's Secret Service detail stood outside, according to a Republican operative who witnessed the strange scene.

Well I guess that tells us what’s on your mind...
It’s just what I said earlier....
Iowa was a pyrrhic victory for Cruz and will forever haunt him
Famous last words?
Total unadulterated rubbish!
If a dispute occurs among Christians, they are suppose to sit down and discuss it face to face. A big walk-in closet that you can put men out front to keep The Daily Beast from listening (and you know they wanted to) is all the better.
Cruz Bots
not goof
Not sure I am following you. How did it not go well? Link?

Cruz Bots
Ok. Better to stand on solid ground than sinking sand I always say.
Did they ever come out of closet..? That’s all we really need to know... /s
Being an ad hominem a "Cruz'bot" is a logical fallacy. It's essentially a poster's admission that "I don't know why I hate Cruz and LOVE Trump. It just FEELS so good." It may violate FR TOS, but hey, Trump supporters don't need no stinkin rules.
But, hey, Trump has a secret plan for converting all conservatives into Trump backers. It's called: "Alinsky's Rules for Radicals", particularly #5 and #13. SHhhhhh, it's a secret! After he and his vulgar supporters tear apart the conservative GOP, those 60% of GOP voters who indicate high negatives on Trump, and those 40% of voters who have already sworn to never support him, well, we'll just all jump on board and ride that Trump 767 right to the White House. Good luck with that.
Ha, Ha, Ha
Truly one of the most unfortunate headlines this season. Turning dirty tricks in a closet does not seem very presidential.
There ya go, kiddies. Another vulgar "conservative" Trump supporter, adding nothing to the thread, just doing what they can do to sow discord here at "TrumpRepublic".
At least he didn't call them "Teabaggers".
From the article:
The conversation lasted so long that it bled into Carsons speaking time at the convention, leaving members of his campaign having to knock on the door to get him ready.
After Carson spoke at the convention, and saw Cruz in the hallway again, Cruz didnt even look at Carson, according to the latterâs campaign.
There was a political play there and it didnt work for them, a Republican operative close to the campaign told The Daily Beast. The meeting didnt go as well as Cruz wanted it to go. Carson had a smile on his face and was looking right at him.
When reached for comment, Rick Tyler, a spokesman for Cruzs campaign, said, Yes, they had a good visit.
Storage closet provides privacy.
We have a 20x30 storage room at work.
I have even had private conversations there.
So?
And Cruz had done this at least twice now, that we are aware. To a non-Christian, Cruz is just proving what kind of low life he is, groveling and begging, because he was so evil that it's going to cost him an election. They'll conclude that he's just going after Carsen's (few) voters.
To a Christian, Cruz is walking the walk. Even though he wasn't personally responsible for the CNN tweet, or the contents of Rep. King's more suggestive re-tweet, or for any of Cruz caucus supporters taking photo copies of those tweets (man I'm old, paper copies?? they probably just showed others the news on their smart phones), Cruz (a) explained the event, (b) publicly apologized up front, before the facts were even clear, (c) called Carson personally, and (d) did not scapegoat anyone else in his campaign.
Christians, saw Christian, or Christ-like leadership from Cruz. And, we're seeing it again. His campaign will not benefit from patching things up with Carsen, because Trump and Rubio will keep on with "liar, liar, stole the Iowa election" until hell freezes over, regardless of circumstances or facts. Cruz is just doing the right thing, and by the way, he didn't issue a press announcement while doing it.
Personally, it tells me a whole lot more about Carson's faith and personality (vindictive? unforgiving?) than it does about Cruz. Even if Cruz were in the wrong, or Carson considered Cruz's explanation, apology, or recompense inadequate, as a Christian, Carson should have accepted Cruz's apology.
Note to Trump supporters: I said "as a Christian" - that's my perspective. Just because I advocate Christian morals and behavior doesn't "prove" that I'm a Cruz supporter.
I'm consistently Christian BEFORE I'm consistently conservative.
That is how it should be. That is an admirable statement.
We don't really know what happened, as neither man is saying. All we have are operatives' words and their spin.
Cruz claims to be "consistently conservative", whereas Trump supporters seem to be "consistently and personally vulgar".
Not good, for the November election turn out.
chill
I early voted Cruz
Let the Trumpies sling slime
November, if it’s Trump, simply pay back and stay home
Huzza!
Agreed. Exactly how I see it. I’ve seen the same thing on FR. After a particularly bruising engagement, I make a private offer of reconciliation, and sometimes it is accepted, but sometimes it is not. It’s hard when that happens. I value the relationships I form here. But sometimes someone is so set on their construction of you they can’t believe you might really mean it, or perhaps they just don’t value the relationship. Maybe some other possibilities.
But warring among brothers and sisters in Christ is contrary to the Christian prime directive, love one another, and I do not understand those who profess faith in Christ being comfortable with sustained separation from fellow believers, least of all over the passing shadow of politics. Which is why I almost always end my posts in a prayer for ...
Peace,
