Donald Trump On ObamaCare: ‘I Like the Mandate’
Breitbart.com ^ | 19 Feb 2016 | John Nolte

Posted on 02/19/2016 10:21:57 AM PST by Rockitz

During Thursday’s CNN Townhall event, when pressed by moderator Anderson Cooper on the “benefits” of the ObamaCare mandate, Republican frontrunner Donald Trump said, “Well, I like the mandate.” He then went on to blast ObamaCare as a “disaster” and President Obama as a liar.

Trump made clear that he is not for single payer healthcare and wants to allow private insurers to compete across state lines. Trump is, however, in favor of taking care “of those who cannot take care of themselves.” We do not want “people dying on the streets,” Trump said.

Seems to have worked for the previous nominee...

[How do you know that? You ACA people want to punish taxpayers.]

I pay attention and read the articles rather than get my briefs in a twist over just the headline.

Perhaps you should try the same.

Perhaps you and others on this thread should do some more research before jumping to conclusions.

Perhaps Trump should stop saying so many things that are wide open to interpretation.

This seals the deal. If Trump is the nominee, I’ll sit this one out.

Like for when Romney said it IN context?...

They don’t care. They clearly didn’t even read this article past the headline.

Guess we’ll find out tomorrow if slinging bullsh*t 24/7 is an effective way to ensure yet another SuperPAC “anti-establishment, grassroots” phony.

Some good suggestions.

How bout this.
1.Use the commerce clause as it was intended and make all states to allow for private insurances sold across state lines.
2. Use the non profit medical to cover at least some of those not able to pay for their medical.
3. Allow medical students to work off their education debt by setting a fee/wage by working at those non profit clinics at least once a week or month or year.
4. For those who do not want to purchase PRIVATE insurance, then they reliquish all their rights to malpractice suits.
5. Force, yes I said force, states to set up review boards to review ALL malpractice suits. And only can a suit go forward with the boards approval.
6. Limit the amount that can be claimed in a law suit and make it loser pays for all court costs for both parties.

We mandate that people have car insurance. Is that what is meant?

You have a choice whether you want to buy/drive a car or not. The obamacare mandate is different. It establishes that the govt owns you and can require you to buy products whether you want them or not.

Maybe Trump's position on the mandate, or his other recent comment about having Rats in his cabinet will cause you to reconsider your support.

I read the article and I reject socialized medicine in all forms. You are trying to contort yourself to support this, but it’s still the government trying to destroy our healthcare system.

They won’t care. They don’t care what his positions are because he says he’ll build a wall. Oh, and he’s rich and leading the polls.

Yes but I rather a deal maker then another useless lawyer who don’t do anything. Apparently the voters do to. Tomorrow the voters will find out if you are right or if I am right. I like my chances.

This seals the deal. If Trump is the nominee, I’ll sit this one out.

Don't sit it out. Do what I am going to do if Trump is the candidate...... Vote for the most conservative 3rd party candidate. That will send a louder message.

He should have run as a Dem..... I’ve been thinking about this. I agree his positions are all over the place depending on what day it is. I think he chose to run as a Repub because we are so split most of the time. The real conservatives vs. the gope. The Dems on the other hand close ranks and do not air disagreement if there is any. I believe he thinks the Repubs are more gullible for his line of blather, and that he could not have won over Hillary so he just conveniently became a Repub. He can’t beat Hillary in the general. They are too similar.

So it was a fraudulent headline, or Trump does not know what “mandate” means?

You should be ashamed for posting half-truths:

Trump wants to secure the borders, enforce the law, end anchor babies, end sanctuary cities, build a wall, deport them all, secure the borders, secure the nation, including sending the refugees back!

No one is better at border security, national security than Trump.

Sounds pretty damn conservative to me.

Want to talk about cutting taxes, cutting spending, cutting regulations, cutting government, cutting cronyism, cutting corruption, growing the economy, putting our people back to work, making America great again?

Trump does. And he sounds pretty damn conservative to me.

Want to defend God, family, guns, country? Want to build the greatest military ever so no one dares mess with us?

Trump does. And he sounds pretty damn conservative to me.

Want to build a coalition including conservatives, capitalists, blue collar workers, veterans, gun owners, religious people, minorities, freedom-loving Americans of every stripe?

Trump does. And he’s doing it. And that sounds pretty damn conservative to me!

Reagan Revolution meet the Trump Revolution.

No excuses for the tone. None needed.
