The entire thing boils down to if you believe Trump.... If you believe he is telling the truth and wants to build the wall, rebuild the military and all his other promises...If you don’t believe him then you are against him— if you do then you for him..

Trump is progressive posing as a conservative, anyone with two brain cells clicking together can spot the ruse.

Preferences... It’s like food & liquor.

I love lobster and Wild Turkey. My husband likes steak and beer. If the only thing I had available to eat was steak and beer, I would have steak and beer. Likewise, I imagine if my husband was hungry and thirsty he would have lobster and Wild Turkey.

I like Trump you like Cruz. If Cruz is the nominee, I’ll vote for Cruz as I’m sure you would vote for Trump if he is the nominee.

For the Primary, I prefer Trump. I trust him and I think he is the best of the group.

The answer is easy. Trump says no specifics, just slogans like “Make America Great Again” and “I’m going to get us great deals” and “everything is going to be great”.

He lets people fill in the blanks for themselves what “great” means to them, and he becomes the perfect candidate for them because in their minds he agrees with them on EVERYTHING. And how could you not for the guy who agrees with you on everything?

Trump is famous, entertaining, outrageous, and angry. That seems to be the sum of his appeal.

I am also puzzled that so many “Conservatives”, even here on Free Republic would follow Trump.

Not only is he not a Conservative, he is using the media to manipulate and distract from the real issues. He is using emotionalism, preying on people’s anger by saying what he needs to get what he wants.

He is psychologically out of balance, he has no grace or gravitas, he is classless and crass, he is not thoughtful nor is he broadly or well educated in what he needs to be to be an inspiring leader. He is a disgrace and an embarrassment to the United States.

Worth going to article and reading the comment by Trubador who actually attempts to answer the question: why are so many in love with DJT.

America is an oligarchy. They started the Federal Reserve in 1913, the CFR in 1921 and the Trilateral Commission in ~1973. If you don’t believe me watch this on the Reece Commission on large tax exempt foundations in 1953/4:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8irQifrpmEY

Or this interview with Aaron Russo (the first 45 min at least):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGAaPjqdbgQ

These people also started the OSS and later the CIA.

Every administration is loaded with people from the CFR and TC. Cruz’s administration would too, his wife works for Goldman Sachs and is in the CFR.

Trump wouldn’t hire these people, or at least in all of his top positions. At one point I think I read Obama hired 700 people from the CFR alone.

Here’s a quote from Hillary Clinton:

Thank you very much, Richard, and I am delighted to be here in these new headquarters. I have been often to, I guess, the mother ship in New York City, but it’s good to have an outpost of the Council right here down the street from the State Department. We get a lot of advice from the Council, so this will mean I won’t have as far to go to be told what we should be doing and how we should think about the future.
- Hillary Rodham Clinton, Secretary of State - July 15, 2009 - speaking at the Council on Foreign Relations

There you go, that’s why the GOPe hate Trump. He will derail their plans on immigration, the national debt, etc. Basically, slow down their plans for a NWO.

It’s real simple, Steve

Trump will end Muslim immigration.
Trump will put an end to cruddy trade deals.
Trump will build the wall.

And until some other candidate adopts those positions, Trump will remain in the lead.

Did anyone notice that the PC stranglehold has been broken by Trump and because of that alone this election is energizing everyone? It is also bring the phony "conservative movement" types out in the open. Try and picture what this election cycle would look like without him. The last fart I explelled would have more flair than a Trumpless election cycle.

He even told the Pope to shove it. Way to go Donald! The man is God send.

PS without Trump Cruz would have dropped out by now.

I supported, donated to, and voted for Tea Party candidates. I’ve watched them stab me in the back over and over again. Yes. I’m done with them. They’re weak. They have no core. (Gov Haley, anyone?)

Trump is not for ‘single payer healthcare’. He’s for ‘universal healthcare’... this would probably end up giving us something like Australia’s healthcare model. A combination of affordable insurance with a very basic public healthcare system to back it up for the poor and elderly. There is nothing wrong with that and many FReepers have proposed such a compromise over the years.

Without Trump, we wouldn’t even be talking about illegal immigration in this election. Nobody would mention it or care. And the two Cuban candidates would be passing amnesty if they were elected to ‘expand the base’.

McCain is a massive disappointment. He’s a ‘reach across the aisle’ GOPe elite. He might *say* the right things, but his actions speak louder than words. He’s worse than a leftist. He’s a colluder.

You know, I can understand being fed up with Obama, and I can understand being fed up with the establishment RINO's, but throw critical thinking and logic out the window is inconceivable to me. They're doing exactly what the Obummer voters did first time around to elect him. It's the exact same thing, and it's the exact same thing when Jesse Ventura got elected in my state---I learned a very valuable lesson during that time! DON'T VOTE ON FEELINGS!

Happens every election cycle: Candidate A promises some things some of us like and Candidate B promises some other stuff. Then all of the Free republic devolves into internecine battle that gets louder and crazier every day that goes by.

Some reality. Trump’s a good guy and he has some excellent proposals and best of all, he’s really stood up to the illegal immigration lobby and pounded political correctness.

More reality. Cruz is an outstanding conservative and if by some remote chance he wins the Presidency, we’ll be in tall cotton.

Last bit of reality. If Trump wins the nomination, we need to back him. If Cruz wins, we need to back him.

Easy, isn’t it? Or maybe you prefer Hillary or Bernie.

“I’m backing the guy that donated to help them against the Tea Party.”
“I’m voting for the guy that helped fund most of the political campaigns of the gang of 8.”

This is the weakest criticism of Trump.
A big businessman donates to both sides, which is required to be competitive and get things done.
It says nothing about his personal views or how he would govern.

“I’m backing the only candidate not named Bernie Sanders also for single-payer healthcare.”

Trump explicitly said he isn’t for single payer healthcare.

From my perspective there is no substance to your views on Trump posted here, and I’m a Cruz supporter
