John Kasich has a simple explanation for the emotional moments he's faced on the campaign trail, "People are lonely."
Appearing on CNN's "New Day" on Friday, Kasich talked about a moving interaction he had with a voter at a town hall a day earlier that's since gone viral, where Kasich hugged and whispered encouragement to a young man in the audience who had opened up about challenges in his personal life.
Discussing the moment with host Chris Cuomo, Kasich explained, "I've become convinced that there's a lot of people out across our country who are lonely."

He seems like a decent guy, but we don’t need decent this time around. We need a take no prisoner fighter. Trump is the only one that can fix the United States. Cruz, Bush, Rubio, Kasich and Carson are all weak and the Congress would walk all over them.
He could make a good vice president. Especially if he can carry Ohio and help in a couple other purple states.
Kasich is virtually the reincarnation of GWB. No thanks.
I would imagine that Kasich or Rubio will be VP.
I was thinking along that line. Plus he has goodwill in the Congress from his days as a congressman.
RE: John Kasich on campaign trail emotion: ‘People are lonely’
OK, so they are, and is it your job as President to solve this problem?
So you won’t vote for him as pres now, but would in 4 or 8 yrs??
“Please think of us as your children, and uh, we need a new fridge for our kitchen, and uh, help me find a girlfriend.”
Not the first time I’ve seen that suggestion. It does have possibilities.
The Dems will now propose a $14 Trillion dollar program to remedy this pressing national problem.
And of course Kasich and the GOPe will respond with a $13.9 Trillion dollar plan, implemented in three sensible stages.
Kasich is virtually the reincarnation of GWB. No thanks.
The Ohio version.
Kumbaya Kasich.
This is because these people are at Kasich rallies.
