A “gotcha” quote isn’t necessarily the result of “gotcha” question in fact in most cases they are just like this situation. You guys are seizing on something that is basically meaningless because he didn’t expound on it at all. Trump has not said he wants people to be forced to buy health insurance once during this campaign. If he meant this last night it would be a radical departure, so this doesn’t seem likely. I watched the entire “town hall”. He talked a lot longer about health care than even the two minute clip you have provided.
I have said on numerous occasions that every time Trump says he doesn’t want to see “people dying in the street” it makes me barf just a little in my mouth. That is because I spent 25 years working as a first responder and no one is emergency services regardless of their ability to pay ever. So does that make you a little happier. Donald Trump says stuff about health care that makes him sound clueless. So does Ted Cruz, Jeb, Marco, and even Ben Carson. Carson was a specialist and does not necessarily see the big picture even though he is the one who is most aware of health care issues.
Unfortunately we are getting a lot of that. "It's going to be unbelievable, believe me."
