Pat Buchanan: Donald Trump’s Rise Is Rejection of a Quarter Century of Bush Republicanism

Pat Buchanan declared that Trump’s rise represents a rejection of 25 years of Bush Republicanism— an ideology which Buchanan says has destroyed America’s once-great manufacturing core, flooded the country with low-skilled workers, and drained the treasury with ill-advised foreign adventures in the Middle East.

“In the GOP nomination race, the chickens of a quarter century of Bush Republicanism have come home to roost,” Buchanan told Breitbart. “Trump’s triumphs to date are due to his recognition of, and identification with, the Middle American revolt against Bush family ideology and policy, and what it has produced.”

Buchanan explained that “America is rejecting the Bush immigration policy,” which has “proffered amnesty” to “12 million illegals… because it said the United States is helpless to do anything about their presence here.”

“America’s establishment has failed America,” Buchanan said, “The single clearest message in the presidential campaign of 2015-2016 is that the American people would like to cleanse our capital city of its ruling class.”

The last “real conservative” to appear on any ballot was Reagan. I was thrilled to vote for him both times. All the same crap you spout I heard about him too, from all of those warning us that “he used to be a Democrat, you can’t trust him!”.

Every other “true conservative” since Reagan has screwed us. They haven’t met a budget increase or an effed up trade deal that they could pass up. Your “true conservative” has grandstanded on every issue, while selling us down the river on two extremely important ones - all while parsing his rebuttals to give himself deniability.

We are done voting for attorneys that speak out of both sides of their mouths, while portraying themselves as something they are not. Trump has his flaws, and has been open about his past. The constant misquotes and false headlines posted by your camp is a trick used by the Rats to lure LIVs, yet at the same time your group preaches to us about we aren’t “conservatives” or even “Christians” if we don’t support your candidate while on your high horse.

The childish attacks and name calling from your side are incessant reminders of your groups condescension. Try sticking to issues.

Vote for your guy. Support your guy. As far as telling us how to vote? Shove it.

Cruzies know they’ve backed the wrong horse, but their pride won’t allow them to publicly change their position. So they seethe with bitterness toward us and toward Trump.

They’re like the GOPE in a way because they refuse to change course even though it’s obvious they’ve made a monumental misjudgment.

Thanks!

After a day of reading all their crap (usually the same things ad nauseum) it’s hard not to say something.

I've always said from the beginning of his campaign that Donald Trump was the wrong messenger with the right message. His egregious personal character failings disqualify him from the office.

I agree that Donald Trump channels much of Pat Buchanan's trenchant and timely criticism of Bush's policies. The establishment managed to marginalize Pat Buchanan in his campaigns and thus vitiate his message. In the subsequent years Buchanan's criticism of foreign entanglements, especially his criticism of the Iraq war, led him to being marginalized as an anti-Semite.

The contemporaneous revelations that Donald Trump is lying about his opposition to the Iraq war points up not only the character failings that disqualify Donald Trump but demonstrates that much of Trump's echoing of Pat Buchanan represents new wine. in an old bottle. Trump reportedly spent $1 million for study the told him what issues to assume for this election season. Clearly, some of these were long-held views of Donald Trump but others, just as clearly, are adopted opportunistically.

The problem is Donald Trump lies about virtually everything so that only a fool will rely on Donald Trump actually carrying out any of the real principles laid down by Pat Buchanan.

>Why do you think Buchanan is a Nazi ?

Well, Pat does have a storied and very disquieting history of anti-Semitism.

*However*, that’s not his entire political makeup. In the general, he’s anti-interventionist, or what some people called “paleo-con” in the 2000s.

In this particular statement Pat is right, but no more so than the many others who observe that people are tired of the Uniparty and eager for someone who is a) not a career politician and b) actually supports American ideals.

I’ve always read your posts with interest. However, for me it almost boils down to: “do I believe trump will build a wall?” And I do. He knows there is a deep popular hunger for this. Even if it is self serving- I.e possibly Trump will save America just to be popular- he will still have saved America.

Do you believe Trump will build the wall?

Never heard of this. Please explain.

Why is it that so many Muslims run motels in small towns everywhere? They often burn incense.

William F. Buckley, Jr., accused Pat of anti-Semitism. This was long after Mr. Buckley and John Wayne backed surrendering the Panama Canal.

I will give credit to Pat that he was ahead of the curve on “The Death of the West” and what we’re seeing happening in Europe right now.

The “empty chair” Burr can be replaced by a pro-life, constitutional candidate IF only YOU will go to the polls and vote for him. Make your vote count and forget the “empty chair” Burr.
