It will be if their donor class insists that they preserve Citizens United.

I hope this is just political posturing and they’ll hold the line once Obama names someone grossly partisan and unqualified. Of course, a lot of hopes with the GOP establishment are overly optimistic.
Which minority will Obama nominate for another historic first, to alienate he/she/its group from the spineless Republicans? (I should have left off spineless, since that is understood automatically.)
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m advising my only Republican Senator, that if the Senate and Republican party supports and votes for any Obama nominee, I’m dropping my party membership...I’m not with Trump yet, but enough is enough.

If (when) the republicans cave on this.....they will in effect cease to exist. The base will never came back.
I’ve lurked and seen Trump supporters criticizing Cruz’s lack of support among his colleagues in the Senate. The people in DC who don’t like Cruz are swift to roll over for the Democratic Party and give in without a struggle.
For years we wanted representatives that actually represent us. Isn’t that what Cruz is doing? That’s why they aren’t happy with him.
Think about where you want your representative’s loyalty to rest, Trump supporters!
Good line: Why should Obama be so concerned about what the Constitution says about appointing someone to the Supreme Court when he doesn’t want whoever he appoints to follow the Constitution anyway?

I look for Obama to nominate a judge that he previously nominated that made it through Senate confirmation. Then, about a week after the nomination, Obama will say Republican’s aren’t moving the nomination because he is black and his nominee is *fill in race and/or gender of nominee*.
