A few months ago I wrote that Donald Trump was probably going to withdraw before the Iowa caucuses rather than face the embarrassment of defeat. Wrong. He did lose Iowa, seemed momentarily humbled, but then quickly reverted to form by asserting that he really won. He went on to a landslide victory in New Hampshire and now leads in South Carolina.
While much of the political world speculates that Trump may be creating a new kind of candidacy largely immune to normal attacks, let me make another assertion (that may prove as wrong as the previous): Donald Trump should be easy to defeat. What makes him not a ânormalâ candidate actually makes him more vulnerable rather than stronger. Let me explain.
In a Republican primary, Trump lacks both an ideological or geographic base. For all the focus on his bigoted remarks about Mexicans and Muslims, Trump has won self-identified moderate voters in both Iowa and New Hampshire. In Iowa, he lost conservatives and very conservatives but won them in NH (in a landslide victory like he had in NH, itâs hard to win everything.) In a party that is increasingly dominated by the South and Sunbelt, Trump lives on Fifth Avenue.

and we are prompted to ask, what is the number of the Beast, daily or otherwise?
The funny thing is, Trump is not only dictating the terms of engagement for the Republican primary, but he’s controlling the lunatic fringe of the left-wing media as well!
It appears they like it better than tRump does.
Not every Republican is as conservative as we'd like, and a fair number of them are sometimes going to side with Dems. But for anyone who thinks there's "no difference", just remember that not a single Republican in either chamber voted for Obamacare. And party line votes are.more.common on judici nominations than anything else.
I'm not sure any of them are, but all of them, including Cruz, are way more vetted than Trump. For Cruz, their has been a lot of discussion of potential negatives. With Trump, it's only about the stuff he says. All other facts about Trump are banned.

I can’t argue with your logic there.
Steady, Reliable, and (for now) Republican - Donald Trump (D, R, I, D, R, I, R - NEW YORK)).
That's kind of an old try at insulting Trump. For you liberals to claim he only insults that is all you guys try to do.
Lol. She is representative of Trumpâs historic negatives as found by Gallup. That orangey moron is not as popular as you imagine him to be.
Nice try but fail. Congress ha an 11% approval rating. 96% of them got reelected.
If some anti-trump vitriol was all it took to make you a trumpette, you’re a weak willed individual. I don’t care how it comes off. I don’t care if you despise Ted Cruz, I don’t care if you despise everyone else running either. TRUMP IS A CON MAN AND HIS SUPPORTS ARE THE SUCKERS!
Yes, Trump doesn’t live in The South. Shocking revelation. He’s gonna go down now!
Looking forward to casting my vote for Trump in my SUNSHINE STATE primary. :)
Problem is, many Trump supporters don’t care what these people think or say.
Orange man - Oh noes!!! Supporters paint their faces orange as a rally cry.
Mexico - Gasp!! M-13 are just children?
Bankruptcies - Clutch my pearls! I’m going to faint!!
Hyperventilating!! Somebody fetch a paper bag!
Maybe they need a revival with a foam party following. That’ll fix em.
These people are so clueless is shocking.
TRUMP IS A CON MAN AND HIS SUPPORTS ARE THE SUCKERS!
Yep. I knew Trump was a con man when I saw he was taking millions in anonymous campaign donations money laundered through straw LLCs. Ooops. That wasn’t Con man “Donnie” doing that. That was the principled conservative in the race, Pastor Ted, stuffing his pockets with dirty money. Sorry, there is nothing principled or conservative about Ted Cruz’s sleazy campaign.
I stay away from the advice of a loser.
Nope, I am voting for Trump because his enemies are my enemies. He is the only one who is keeping the press and the GOPe from picking their candidate. And I am a very conservative voter.
If I thought Cruz would be anywhere close to his current position without Trump’s existence, I might vote for Cruz. But I have already seen the press decimate Cruz several times (Green Eggs and Ham).
I first started voting in the seventies and Reagan was the first and last time I voted for a presidential candidate I liked. And by the way, the press hated him and the GOPe hated him. After that, they made a deal, only watered down GOP presidential candidates will get good press and money. I am voting for Trump regardless of Trump. I don’t think the others will win when the press start shooting at them. The national polls of Trump vs. whoever or Rubio vs. whoever are meaningless. Those polls will completely change long before the November elections.
Lie and lie.
Better see a doctor about that Trump Derangement Syndrome. It’s getting worse.
And, they're homos.
