Those of us in IL know this. But in the famous words of Jagger and Richards, “you can’t always get what you want”.
The choice then, as it is now, was between a Democrat who would vote the liberal position 100% of the time, and Mark Kirk, who will do so about 50% of the time.
Conservatives held their nose once again last time to put this turn-coat into office and many Illinois voters will no longer vote for Kirk, no matter what. Many will just skip the ballot check off for either candidate and leave it unchecked.
Though Kirk says he is a Republican, to say he is a Republican in name only (RINO) would be putting it mildly.
According to Conservative Review, Kirk has a liberty score of 29 percent. The purpose of the group’s liberty score is to “determine if a politician is supporting conservative principles separating their rhetoric from reality.”
