“Uh-huh. He cares about vets, unless theyâre NYC licensed sidewalk vendors who happen to be disabled vets. Then, he doesnât want them anywhere near his properties.”
I wouldn’t want the homeless near my house either.
Obviously, you didn’t even read the article. They weren’t homeless, they were licensed sidewalk vendors, which are everywhere in New York and many are disabled vets.
As was reported in the New York Daily News, Trump wrote in a letter to the New York State Assembly back in 1991, âWhile disabled veterans should be given every opportunity to earn a living, is it fair to do so to the detriment of the city as a whole or its tax paying citizens and businesses? Do we allow Fifth Avenue, one of the worldâs finest and most luxurious shopping districts, to be turned into an outdoor flea market, clogging and seriously downgrading the area?â
He was still at it in 2004, when he wrote a letter to Mayor Mike Bloomberg: âWhether they are veterans or not, they [the vendors] should not be allowed to sell on this most important and prestigious shopping street.â
Is there anything for which you Trump supporters will not make excuses for the guy? Then, he did not want vets who were licensed by the city of New York anywhere near his “luxurious, important and prestigious” area. Today, he uses veterans as campaign props.
