"He sues, most of all, to make headlines and to reinforce the notion that he is powerful," wrote Daily Beast reporter Olivia Nuzzi in an overview of his lawsuits last July.

His goal in this may not be paving the way for an actual bolt from the party so much as establishing a narrative about why he lost - if he loses, which is far from a sure thing. Thatâs what some right-leaning pundits suspect, in any case.
"Trump's image depends on him being seen as the consummate winner; if he loses to Cruz, he'll need to explain how that possibly could have happened. The only tolerable excuse is that he was cheated," writes Allahpundit...

I notice you choose to mince words like a lawyer and attack me personally, exactly as a I predicted, instead of choosing to acknowledge Ted’s lying.
This is why no one likes Ted Cruz. This is why his poll numbers are slipping, and he’s going to come in 3rd or lower in SC and fizzle out into nothing from there. Hope you’re mentally prepared for it, because you seem pretty disconnected from reality at this point.
Best wishes in your impending time of grief.
I most certainly did NOT attack you. You have on multiple threads said what you think of Ted Cruz for “lying”. I most certainly did not mince words. I used the same technique that you yourself used in your reply to me. I merely asked if you were willing to hold yourself to the same standard that you hold others to.
Your answer makes it abundantly clear that you are not. Enjoy the malleable principles of your own hypocrisy.
If he doesn't, and Cruz prevails, the Lefties will - better to get it cleared up beyond a shadow of a doubt as early as possible.
Now: In an interview with Bloomberg Politics in January, Trump said, "I'm pro-life and I have been pro-life." He said he believed there should be exceptions in cases of rape, incest or the life of the mother.
Now: At the 2015 NRA-ILA Leadership Forum, Trump said if he became president, "the 2nd Amendment will be totally protected." He told the Web site Ammoland he does "not support expanding background checks" and said current background checks "don't work."
Now:Â On NBC on Wednesday, he called Clinton "the worst secretary of state in the history of our nation" and said she would be "a terrible president."
Now:Â Has been a registered Republican since 2009.
There are also some flips which haven't necessarily been from left to right.
Now:Â On Fox News's "On The Record" this week, he called Bush "pathetic" for his support of Common Core, said his immigration views were "baby stuff."
He said in on sunday the only name Trump has posed for the SC is his sister, when only the night before standing less than 10 feet away Trump named Sykes and Pryor.
Did Ted not hear him, not see the overnight stories excoriating Trump as a right wing radical for naming these two conservative judges, or did he simply forget?
The only other option is a lie to support his contention that only he can save the constitution.
Most observers considered his Sunday comment less than honest.
You asked... there is an example. Look it up here or on Google.
I don’t believe he will sue.
All talk.
He stays in front of the cameras this way, for free.
If he sues and wins, his opponents will attack him, saying he cannot argue on issues, he just finds ways to knock out his rivals, like Obama did when he ran in the state of Illinois.
If he looses, it shows he is not a legal expert, and that favors Cruz, and puts doubts in the minds of people who would vote for Trump, especially with the passing of Scalia.
No, he will just keep it out there, saying it but doing nothing, because that benefits him the most.
Keep the seed of doubt in the voters minds, without proving/disproving a thing.
It’s time for SC to be introduced to the Trump that said he could/would almost boink his own daughter.
That would shut that gasbag up!
“Donald Trump Wonât Stop Joking About Banging His Daughter”

Just displaying his New York values.
Imo most of the rest is hucksterism to sucker-in the “rubes” of middle America. This is how NYC elites look at the rest of the country. Anyone who thinks he’ll build a wall the fed or Mexico will pay for is a dolt who’d probably put a down payment on the Brooklyn bridge too.
They think we’re IDIOTs. They’re laughing their asses off at “conservatives”.
He tipped his hand at a recent rally when someone yelled encouragement from the audience while he was speaking. The shocked, scornful look that flashed over his face gave him away. He’s an elite who expects to get his way and does not tolerate or care for Little People, people without power.
Stupid point.
Cruz could put an end to this if he wanted.
Trump may not Sue. But you really think whomever wins for Dems want sue.
Now you have a Constitutional Crisis. Supreme Court will now have to way in. Even if they are still down a member.
Cruz needs to provide the truth. He WILL lose votes in SC Because the issue is not settled in the mind of the voters.
There is no way at this point Trump is losing SC. He looks like he is winning with a crushing victory. Cruz is currently having a total meltdown with his ads. First it was the porn start now there is a fiasco where he is pulling his ads not know what to do! Wow! Senators really do make lousy executives.
Trump is more calculating, robotic and repetitive than Rubio.
Right, the lefties should decide who is president.
if it is true, yes, he would be done.
but he would just go into being a lawyer and make trumps life a living hell. Cruz knows the law more than any number of trumps Sharks.
You should be happy that Trump didn’t use the exact quote from Tom Coburn because what Coburn actually said is much worse than what Scavino paraphrased. Either way, same point. Ted is dishonest and doesn’t tell the truth. Pretty obvious for all to see.
I agree with you, but the equation has changed with the Supreme Court now taking a big step to the left. Previously, I doubt he would ever have actually filed. Now with the chance of success greatly increased I am not as sure.
All Trump has to do now is sue in a place like Northern California. If the suit is not dismissed... the Ninth Circuit would hear the appeal. For those who watch their decisions the typical pattern is to have 2 judges for and 1 against directly along political lines. The Supreme Court would now most likely be deadlocked and the decision of the Appeals Court would stand.
All Donald has to do is provide enough wiggle room during the initial court battle for two liberal judges on the 9th Circuit to justify their decision to knock Cruz out of the race. This is not an opinion on the quality and merit of the legal arguments this is just how it would most likely work out.
He’s already backing down again.
Cruz is the biggest lying phony, I’ve ever witnessed in a campaign.
I double-dog dare Trump to sue Cruz!
