The problem here is that people’s desire for revenge is greater than their desire for doing right. That is why Trump’s liberal positions don’t matter to them. He could personally perform a partial-birth abortion live on stage at a Democrat debate during prime time, and his supporters would still be cheering him on. Because they have (wrongly) convinced themselves that Trump is the person who can exact vengeance for them.

“Because they have (wrongly) convinced themselves that Trump is the person who can exact vengeance for them.”

I think your psychological analysis is spot on. It will be sad to watch when Trump inevitably turns on his own supporters for perceived minor deviations from absolute fealty.

I suspect there’s a lot of truth in what you wrote.

The worst part watching all this for me, is Trump telling everyone who he’s going to work with in Congress. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNTAF86AeZg

In one of the links above, Cruz is castigated for ‘not getting anything done’ in the Senate. Anyone who says such a thing, IMO, has no idea the scope of the problem we face as a country. I suppose if Cruz would’ve thrown in with McConnell and Reid he would’ve been credited by these people as ‘having gotten things done’. Even if by doing so the country would’ve been flushed further down the gutter.

What kind of ‘deals’ do people think Trump is going to make with his longtime friend Schumer and Pelosi?

Someone had a tagline, and if you read this forgive me for not remembering your name, that said something along the lines of: When Trump wins will Cruz support him?

But in the wake of Trumps own words and prior deeds, I find myself asking a different question: If Trump wins the Presidency, who will he work with in the Senate, Ted Cruz or Chuck Schumer?

Frankly, judging by Trump’s own words, I think it’s obvious he’d rather ‘make deals’ with Schumer than stand with an ‘extremist’ like Ted Cruz.

And taken to it’s logical conclusion, I don’t think it’s far-fetched to think under a Trump presidency, the handful of solidly conservative Senators will be cast aside, and made irrelevant, and the House Freedom Caucus will likewise be sent into the political wilderness for the duration of Trump’s term while the RINO Ryan and McCarthy wing ‘cut deals’ with Pelosi whenever necessary.

The problem here is that people's desire for revenge is greater than their desire for doing right. That is why Trump's liberal positions don't matter to them. That is a perfectly horrible and baseless thing to say about hundreds and hundreds of your fellow freepers who support Trump after objectively evaluating his life's work. You have started with the position that your jaundiced view is the only possible truth, and went downhill from there, as if no one who supports Trump could possibly have researched him, when in fact his life has been an open book here in the Northeastern newspapers for decades, and especially in the business press for those who actually run businesses and read about him monthly or weekly in one publication or another for the past 40 years.

Your disdainful moral superiority shows an unwillingness to consider that you may not know what you think you know, as well as an absence of perspective and a revealing display of class envy.
