"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton |
|
"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldnât make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan |
|
"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792 |
|
"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams |
|
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |
|
" Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." - John Quincy Adams |

It's too bad there's a dearth of ideologues amongst the conservative Federal judges.
But that's the price you have to pay for actual thought...

I knew Sowell was one of those that wrote the anti-Trump manifesto in National Review, but I guess I missed where he dissed Cruz.

Many, many conservatives were fooled by Justice Roberts.

He used to support Walker. He is a person of principle and therefore you will find that he criticizes everyone from time to time. No one is perfect, not even Sowell. He is brilliant, however, and I usually agree with him. I did not agree with him about Walker, though Walker looks less bad now, compared to some others.

If we don’t stop the illegals and the muslim immigration, its NOT GOING TO MATTER ONE TWIT who’s on the Supreme Court!!!!!!
To: Helicondelta
Too funny. So we have to ignore all the negatives and vote for Ted because of the supreme Court.....not a chance. Trump will pick great justices too.

Thomas Sowell, another “great” conservative thinker and writer, unmasked and exposed as just another purveyor of words this election cycle.

An obvious constitutional justification for overturning Obamacare is not any kind of obvious slam dunk.
Clarence Thomas went further off the rails when he said the 1st amendment protected “virtual” child porn.

Cruz has no negatives.
Trump has more negatives than Swiss Cheese has cheese.

Oh God. Wake the hell up. Being Cruz is a negative. He is the most disliked person on the planet.

Whoever stops obams from appointing anyone, gets my vote. I think it will come down to the candidates applying the pressure to congress that they’d better stop him this time.. or else. This happens to be more important than any other item so far. Scalia was so perfect for what this country needed, that I don’t know if they can find one equal. But obams is so far gone that he’d do the most damage he could. They cannot let him do this.. it would be the finisher of all we hold dear and there’d be no turning it around... unless we had a coup and everything/everyone was thrown out.. absolutely start over again with the one document.. the Constitution.. a real leader/leaders, and build from there.

Incorrect. Trump is the most unpopular, disliked politician running on either side of the aisle this year. Time to get over your unrequited man-crush, remove the beer goggles and stop lying to protect your Trumpy hunny.
