Trump still leads in S.C. but Kasich jumps into second, new polls shows Trump holds his consistent 35 percent range in the survey by American Research Group, while Kasich - who came in second in New Hampshire - is in second in South Carolina with a 15 percent following.

Pre debate or post debate doesn’t matter. Trump will be up big. It’s been 2 days since the debate. If there was some seismic shift in support the media would be publishing a poll. Hard for you to admit i kmow, but Ted is on life support. He’ll be largely finished after Trump blows him out on Saturday.
I keep thinking that same thing. If Trump is SO FAR ahead of Cruz, and WINNING everywhere, why does Trump feel the need to reiterate into every microphone he can find, that Cruz is such a “nasty guy”, and a liar and all those other personal attacks he keeps saying about Ted???
I mean, if you’re already winning, why the need for such vitriol? Is it just that Trump is a nasty, mean person? Or is he afraid Cruz is closer than the polls are indicating?
I think it’s the latter.
Post and Courier is one of the two flagship newspapers in S.C. (the other is Columbia’s The State), though I have no idea how accurate Post and Courier polls normally are.
Still, will be interesting to see if how this Post and Courier poll eventually stacks up with the RCP polls average:
If Cruz doesn’t come in a strong 2nd, his campaign is effectively finished (though he’ll probably limp along quite a while with the rest of the loser pack.)
Senator 99-1 isn’t winning a general election with a SCOTUS seat riding on the outcome. Cruz would be lucky to win 10 states with social issues being a centerpiece of his campaign.
What did Ted lie about again?
He’s trying to bury Cruz. This is that final flurry of punches when a boxer sees a the slightest weakness in his opponent. This is how he expresses that adrenaline rush.
“Bush internal polls should trump and Cruz tied.”
Uh, don’t you mean that redstate.com CLAIMS that a LEAKED Bush super-PAC poll shows Trump and Cruz nearly tied?
Schuyler Kropf didn’t name either poll he is citing! That should tell you a lot!
He’s not barely acceptable. He’s another McQueeg/Willard ringer for the establishment. As soon as his sexcapades with his BFF Gary Condit are fully aired, it will be a blow-out for Hillary or Bernie.
Rush Limbaugh spent half his show today trying to convince us that Cruz is really doing much better than expected in SC, Trump must have internal polls telling him this, that is why Trump has gone on the attack, and Cruz is positioned to win SC outright.
We could say, well, at least Rush wasn’t pushing Rubio. But Rubio and Jeb! have the most to gain by Cruz denting Trump’s trajectory, since unless Cruz grabs a bunch of Trump voters there isn’t any room for either GOPe candidate to hold on for the hope of a (rigged) brokered convention. That’s why the GOPe was trying to “leak” an “internal poll” supposedly showing just that.
What is the purpose of calling Ted “Rafael”? Is it to point out he is using a different name? Is it to point out he is Cuban? Or it is some way of mocking him? Or maybe you are trying to make it seem like it’s something that can be used against him, in some delusional way?
In any case, it shows YOUR lack of character, more than anything you are trying to put on Cruz.
I, for one, don’t begrudge anyone wanting to change their name to something easier to say and less likely to be made fun of.
When he was 13, Cruz decided to change his name to âTed.â
Born Rafael Edward Cruz, heâd gone by the nickname âFelitoâ most of his life. Cruz describes the nickname often resulted in him being teased. He refers to that time of his life as a time where he was an âunpopular nerd.â
âThe problem with that name was that it seemed to rhyme with every major corn chip on the market. Fritos, Cheetos, Doritos and Tostitos- a fact that other young children were quite happy to point out,â Cruz wrote.
Cruz wrote that his mother gave him the idea to change his name: ââTedâ immediately felt like me. But my father was furious with the decision. He viewed it as a rejection of him and his heritage, which was not my intention.â
Life support is a good description. The last desperate acts of a dying political campaign are lying and smearing.
This afternoon, you mean.

Internal poll for Bush PAC shows much tighter SC race: Trump 26, Cruz 24, Jeb 12, Rubio 11—while public surveys give Trump a huge lead
What do you have against using Cruz’s first name, Rafael? What’s up with that? Is that like bad juju?

Memo to Bush PAC says Cruz jump “based on significant support” in upstate S.C. “where evangelical Christians are heavily concentrated”

I don’t have a problem with it, but it’s just odd, when everyone is calling him “Ted”.
Rafael is is first name. Deal with it.
There’s not a single SC justice - even that lunatic Ginsburg - who would vindicate the wacko birthers who say Cruz is ineligible.
So it would’ve been 9-0 against the tinfoil hat crowd...and now it would be 8-0.
