Hewitt: 'Senators Will Lose Their Jobs If They Block The Blockade' (exactly! Mitch's Moderates!)

Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt said on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday that any Republican senator who does not actively block President Obama's Supreme Court nomination will be voted out of office.

"If I were a Republican - whether the Majority Leader all the way down to the county clerk - and every nominee I would say no hearings. No votes. Lame ducks don’t make lifetime appointments."

"There is no precedent," he continued. "And I will simply add, the base will not forgive anyone. Senators will lose their jobs if they block the blockade. There should be an absolute blockade on this."

Furthermore, he criticized Sen. Patrick Leahy, who earlier in the program claimed any act to block a nomination would ignore the Constitution.

Of course, only 1/3 of the members of the Senate are up for reelection this year. I believe that the number for Republicans this year is 24.

Worse than that... If the GOP doesn’t hold the line on this, then the party will likely implode.

Every single person has a responsibility to write or call their Senators/Congressman and convey this fact to their staff.

This is the time to block any nominee during this election year and particularly from this muzzie in office.

any Republican senator who does not actively block President Obama's Supreme Court nomination will be voted out of office.

I wish this were true. But with McConnell, McCain, Cornyn, Collins, Kirk, Murkowski, Graham, etc., I'm kinda skeptical.

If these RINOs can’t do anything but cave to Obama in every test of political courage, we are better off without them. They have done NOTHING for us in the past, so they won’t be missed.

Democrats like Leaky Leahy KNOW their voters are depressed, ignorant and greedy... depressed they can’t “make it” in America and greedy for the money of those who have succeeded (aka: “free stuff”). DemWits also know the media will lie for them. Such is Leaky’s brazen condemnation of republicans for doing exactly what he did when he opposed GOP SCOTUS nominees. Democrats require a depressed, defeated, passive and obedient population to rule (not govern).

Problem with this is that the primaries will have come and gone by the time filling this opening plays out. If the Repub Senators don’t play nice are we to vote for the Demonrat come Nov. assuring the next three Court members are leftist if Hitlery gets nominated.

Iman obama is wasting his time thinking about who to nominate. I have confidence McConnell will not allow a vote to come to the Senate Floor.

“Every single person has a responsibility to write or call their Senators/Congressman and convey this fact to their staff.”

Definitely. And from what I’ve heard, phone calls and snail mail have more impact than sending an email.

Then, if they do hold hearings and it seems that they’ll cave, I’m hoping for busloads of patriots headed for DC. Didn’t they use pitchforks and torches in France? We couldn’t do that, but a large show of force would be in order.
