Cruz OpEd: John Roberts Should Be A Quick Confirm

Eh, I don’t know about that. I don’t think anyone thought Roberts would turn out the way he did.
Frankly, I think somebody has something on Roberts. Live boy or dead girl type of thing, knowwhadimean?
Replacing Scalia is like replacing Reagan.
It can’t be done.
Those men came from another place that no longer exists.
Where we go from here is anyone’s guess, but I know that we are never going to return to where they came from.
What a dumbass argument. The only reason Trump didn’t support Roberts is because he doesn’t even understand the role of a Judge. Every conservative who understands the
Courts supported Roberts. Did he betray us? Yes. But conservatives would not have seen it coming.
Stupid headline. How about:
At One Time, The Right Loved the Justice That Betrayed Them
More honest.
I think that regarding John Roberts, all conservatives that endorsed him should remember the “fool me once...”.
You can indict the entire party on Roberts, same with O’Connor.
This is a useless post.
So? Everyone one the Right thought Roberts was a Constitutionalist.
In 2009, trump donated to Democrat Harry Reid and it wasn’t the only year he donated to Reid.
Conclusion, Cruz like everyone else on the Right looked at Roberts record before his SC rulings and belived him to be a Constitutionalist while trump looked at Reid’s record as a lefty and donated to him even after the Tea Party tried to oust him.
The Daily Beast? Seriously?
Charles Krauthammer did not seem to trust Roberts: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/07/21/AR2005072102187.html
Roberts clerked with Cruz. Wouldn't Cruz have knows of this red flag against Roberts before Cruz enthusiastically pushed George W. Bush to nominate him?
Just like there ain’t a perfect pick for President, there ain’t a perfect pick for SCOTUS - that said, we need to find someone that’s at least 90% conservative even if he has a few opinions (not how he would rule, but what his personal thoughts may be) that someone can nitpick over.
