Scalia ranked Kelo among the top cases in which the court made a mistake of political judgment, according to the Sun-Times account. The others were the Dred Scott v. Sanford decision in favor of a slave owner and the Roe v. Wade decision finding a constitutional right to abortion.
âMy court has, by my lights, made many mistakes of law during its distinguished two centuries of existence,â Scalia said. âBut it has made very few mistakes of political judgment, of estimating how far ⦠it could stretch beyond the text of the Constitution without provoking overwhelming public criticism and resistance. Dred Scott was one mistake of that sort. Roe v. Wade was another. ⦠And Kelo, I think, was a third.â

Why would you post this here? Trump is an openly enthusiastic support of the Kelo decision.
I don’t recall Lieberman’s connection to it but the last I heard is that the property is a vacant lot.
What is this supposed to mean? The statement is from before either of those decisions.
The date on the post says 2011.
And if Trump had written anything about Justice Roberts at the time, it probably would be that he shouldn’t be confirmed because he was too conservative. Trump wanted Kerry making the choice of that vacancy, remember.

Scalia was right. All 3 rulings were awful.

Well no bias against Trump, no hit piece allegations, this illustrates Trump’s poor understanding of the constitution and his crony capitalist outlook.
