Cruz willing to Filibuster SCOTUS appointee
https://www.yahoo.com/politics/scalia-death-gop-reacts-165826911.html ^

I have just read this and personally I think that if President Obama selects someone and Cruz does go and filibusters it would be the best thing to happen to his campaign. For instance Obama nominates Eric Holder, and Cruz leaves the campaign trail and heads to Washington to block it; then his campaign would be able to paint the picture of his being willing to potentially lose the primary for the sake of saving the country from Obama. Some of Ted's biggest wins have been standing up to the Cartel in Washington and saying no.

That's my humble opinion was curious about others?

They aren’t going to stop him, they agree with him.

They have demonstrated that over and over and over.

No, I do not think that.

What I think is that they are all allies.

That’s all they have to do to win. Nothing.

Now let’s watch them not win.

Repubs, the only ones who can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I am sure CRUZ would do that without hesitation, that is how much he cares about America and the values he holds most important and to all of us as well.

Political value, who knows, but he will do the right thing regardless. That is just who he is.

That would be taking the principled stand.

I would prefer he repeatTedly sing “Christmas Don’t Be Late” by Alvin and the Chipmunks as he filibusters. He wouldn’t even have to change his voice;)

Oh, I agree that he would do it regardless of political winds. He cares that much about our countries direction, that is one thing that the Birthers haven’t quite explained. If Cruz is born unable to legally hold office, then why would his actions show so deeply his concern for our countries direction, and attempt to put it back on the path that would make him ineligible in their eyes. His every action has shown a respect for the Constitution and our nations sovereignty, and and yet he still runs a campaign that its very existence if he were ineligible would destroy that worldview. The Law of Non Contradiction comes to mind. But what do I know I am a Noob

Well for a NOOB you are super smart....welcome to FR at least the saner side. Hang in there and speak you mind, you will be zotted, but only by ignorance.

Cruz......being a constitutional lawyer would absolutely KNOW if he is eligible to run for office or not, but that point goes over the heads of some.

I think the reason they don't get it, is they have STARS in their eyes and are blinded by Fools Gold.

Yeah the discussion can go far afield at times, I have been trying very hard to be respectful at all time to people when I point out where they are getting it wrong about Cruz. Part of the reason I joined was to be a Cruz Apologetics person, because some of the statements I have read on hear have no basis in fact, for instance the claim that he has never held a private sector job, or that he has never run anything and has no executive experience.

Well welcome aboard, we certainly can use another SANE Cruz supporter. One suggestion don't even get down in the gutter with them, they will try to lure you in, ignore them.

Make you point and let them scream. rofl.

Thing is they don’t define defeat the same way we do.

Something that is a defeat to us is a victory to them.

They are all big government statists.

They are not on our side, they just want us to think that they are.

“That is his job, isn’t it?”

Why yes, yes it is, just need all the republican senators to follow suit!

Yeah...well if he wants to stay up all night and talk to himself and call that a filibuster, fine....but it won’t fool anyone.

Now if he did something like organize 20 or so republicans to filibuster, that might be something.

Hey why not see if they can open a criminal investigation into this “natural” death....

Yes it is. This is no great act of bravery, besides which, as others have noted, all the Senate has to do is stay in session. But they’ll all hail Cruz as the savior they so desperately need him to be.
