Following attacks from primary rival Jeb Bush about his past use of eminent domain, Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump on Sunday accused the Bush family of using the practice to build a baseball stadium in Texas.
"Eminent domain is a very important thing," Trump said on ABC's "This Week." "Jeb Bush doesn't understand what it means, and if you look into the Bush family â I found this five minutes ago â they used eminent domain for the stadium in Texas, where they own, I guess, a piece of the Texas Rangers."
When host George Stephanopoulos said that was Jeb's brother, former President George W. Bush, Trump said his point still stands.
"That doesn't matter," he said. "It was the Bush family. They used private eminent domain. He didn't tell anybody this. So, I mean, he should have told people."
"Maybe â he probably doesn't know because I don't think he even knows what eminent domain is," he added. "But I just found that out five minutes ago."
The billionaire businessman also refused to recant his support for governmental seizures of private property.
"Eminent domain is important," he said. "You wouldn't have highways, you wouldn't have roadways, you wouldn't have bridges, you wouldn't have hospitals. You wouldn't have anything without it."
He also said the crowd at Saturday night's GOP primary debate was firmly in his corner on the issue.
"The crowd was on my side, except that they were all friends of mine that were donors and special interests and lobbyists, some of whom worked for me in the past," he said.
With all due respect. And to all.... AC took a great deal of properties.. Yes, for casinos and the support for same.... It was a nightmare of a place.. One morning I rode a bike to the North end of the boardwalk. The entire area was leveled, gone.. The entire population moved to another town, very near. Another nightmare, another discussion.. Point is, it was all for the future, the casinos. AC pushed all this, NJ pushed all this.. Just say’n..
They weren’t happy with the increased sales tax.
Jerry aint giving to the community.
That part of Arlington was becoming run down . . . and also some empty row after row after row of office space.
Actually the Cowboys pay the City of Arlington 165,000.00 per MONTH for the next 30 years.
Trump realizes that the gope still want Bush as the nominee. He also realizes that if there is a brokered convention, the gope will find some way of forcing Bush on us. Trump has to totally destroy and discredit not only Jeb, but all the Bushes, to make it impossible for Bush to ever be considered for the nomination.
Great reply! They will beat an issue to death claiming only they speak for conservatism. All conservatives are not the same as all Christians are not. Kind of makes me think since there is so much variety God must have meant it that way.

I lived in Arlington for about 20 years. I was just back in November and I’ll take 20 or 30 or the new “W” depending on where I’m heading. No biggie.
I preferred to work in Ft. Worth back then vs. Dallas, easier parking and no sun in my eyes going or coming. :)
