If Bush II was a serious man before 9/11 (He WAS after) then he would have recognized the danger in delinking agencies involved in security. Sorry, but this is NOT complicated. When the nation’s worst terrorism disaster happens on YOUR watch you own it. If that burden seems unfair, DON’T RUN FOR THE OFFICE.
You can double down on stupid. He’d been in office NINE months and it was a Clinton created mess but you keep defending those Democrats and Trump. Some will fall for it but not all of us.
Now, letâs imagine the future. What if he fails to comply, and we fail to act, or we take some ambiguous third route which gives him yet more opportunities to develop this program of weapons of mass destruction and continue to press for the release of the sanctions and continue to ignore the solemn commitments that he made?
Well, he will conclude that the international community has lost its will. He will then conclude that he can go right on and do more to rebuild an arsenal of devastating destruction.
And some day, some way, I guarantee you, heâll use the arsenal. And I think every one of you whoâs really worked on this for any length of time believes that, too.

When did President Bush not “own” it. He owned it every day of his life afterwords and probably will until he dies. That’s because unlike Trump, who would blame everyone but himself, he is a man.
Pres. Bush was not responsible for what happened on 9/11. That belongs to the people who did the deed. Should he have known it was coming, I have no idea and neither do you.
Are you even old enough to remember 9/11?
I flew to Turkey right after Saddam invaded Kuwait. Do you remember that? Were you even alive then? I was in Turkey days after he invaded. I spent much of my adult life in the Gulf. I lost count of how many times I was shot at, badly. What the hell did YOU do?
