We found out what happened to Romney, McCain, and Dole.
They refused to fight back.

Perfect post. I wish I could use your whole post for my tag line. :)

Without Trump there won’t be a wall and without a wall, we will never have another chance to elect a conservative president. Also, Trump is needed to fix this economy. He has the expertise and business sense to make a difference. Can anyone seriously see one of the other candidates making a positive impact on the economy?

The President shall have Power to fill up all Vacancies that may happen during the Recess of the Senate, by granting Commissions which shall expire at the End of their next Session.

The next session will start on January 3rd, 2017.

Given that, I don't think they're in recess in at all when one Congress ends and then another begins.

114th United States Congress

Mitch McConnell was officially elected Senate Majority Leader on January 3rd, 2015. So the NEW Senate started business on that day.

Wallace is dreaming. Hillary Clinton is not going to agree to debate on Fox. She is walking on egg shells with this FBI investigation that Obama probably controls. They will drag their feet through the primaries to try to push Hillary over the finish line. The Republican nominee better be prepared for battle. It will be a fight like no other until November.

“Cruz would win on Ground Game and Trump will win with his media wars and in this case Trump will be the nominee in a sweep across the country.”

Yes, Mr. Trump is doing a marvelous job on the commie propaganda machine

“Trump is the first one and most likely the only one who is serious about building it and the rest will never get it done.”

No, Senator Ted Cruz has been campaigning on this issue while Trump uses illegals to build his GREAT buildings, clean his GREAT gulf courses

“The rest of the candidates only state their nuanced platitudes to straddle the same fence which has surrendered issue after issue. Political Correctness is the biggest club the Marxists have to beat down the opposition into submission and he beats them back to their safe rooms with courage and a sense of humor.”

Again No, Senator Ted Cruz has been doing this all his life - Including fighting for the Constitution in various courts. Mr. Trump uses eminent Domain and believes it is for the RICH like himself who know better.

“In New York City if you want to build skyscrapers you have to sing the Battle Hymn more often than Dixie. He does not have the luxury of only donating one direction and irritating the Dems who are very vindictive which will add millions to his costs if he can get permits at all.”

Mr. Trump - the really GREAT RINO doea as he sees fit. Principles - who needs them

“It really is not close who knows economics better than anyone on the stage or in DC, period. He is not a socialist and understands capitalism inside and out which is why he articulates it far better than anyone in the country”

Again No. Mr. trump does NOT understand Economics. Mr. Trump does understand how to buy politicians. Since you are in the construction business, just curious, where does the Donald buy the steel for his buildings? - China perhaps - like most EPCs

“He is teaching America what capitalism is for the first time in fifty years.”

Again No, a crony capitalist who buys politicians is no different than Mussolini who made the Trains run on time. Capitalism is providing an even playing field, equality under the law - NOT Favoring KELO, so all who try have a chance to succeed.

“The biggest reason Trump will win is he is not afraid to get ugly. Republicans have to go against the Three Pillars of Propaganda (media, academia and the DNC) to win. They have two choices, they can win ugly or lose graciously and it is much easier to be gracious. The establishment would rather debate and convince voters through high brow debating societies while the Dems are calling them racist, sexist homophobes. Trump will win ugly which is how this country is going to get fixed.”

Yes, winning is important - Let us hope what we do not end up in a Mussolini style socialist Valenzuela

“He will drive the purists crazy since he is going to do what is right in his gut, but in the end they will be based on capitalism which is the basics of Conservatism. “

Again No, Conservatism, the Constitution, the rule of law applied equally to all, private property rights. These are the basis of capitalism. Getting things backwards is sloppy thinking that allows Marx, Lenin, Mao, Mussolini to brainwash the masses. I would say that Mr. Trump is doing a masterful job at pouring on the B.S.

Let us all hope Mr. Trump is not the third reincarnation of the Bushes with a large dose of Chucky Schumer

Thank you.
It was another hard one to write since I want to stay somewhat objective. I also wanted to give you and every other supporter who gets hammered on all sides a voice.

He is getting it from the establishment as well as Rush/Levin/Beck and this needed to be said for his supporters. They have real reasons of substance to support him. Hope it got close to your thoughts.

Thanks very much, AB!

Just to be clear, because I'm at my least brilliant in the early morning, your Post #33 makes certain the present, duly elected U.S. Senate is not automatically in recess during those 23 days, right?

Mitch & Co. can elect to stay in session up and until the new POTUS is sworn in?

We can scratch Hatch and Graham from your list.
I heard both of them opine last night.
Graham said, "it's payback time for Harry Reid changing the filibuster rules and jamming through demonic-rat nominations."
Orin Hatch said much the same.

Why does Cruz keep lying, saying if Trump is elected he will write out the 2nd Amendent? What in the heck is he talking about? What lies! Trump is very pro-2nd Amendment. Cruz is obviously very desperate and rightly so, I guess.

My understanding is that a recess appointment does not need approval by the Senate. The appointed judge would take office until the Congressional term is over, some time late this year or early next year.

When you think about this, it doesn’t make sense for nobama to do this. The new judge would barely have time to get his/her feet wet before they’d have to leave.

I’m not up to speed on how the SCOTUS schedule works. It’s possible the new judge would be gone before the SCOTUS did any heavy lifting.

The new Senate takes office January 3, 2017;

The Constitution set the date for Congress to convene - Article 1, Section 4, Clause 2 originally set that date for the third day of December. The Twentieth Amendment, however, changed the opening date for sessions to noon on the third day of January, unless they shall by law appoint a different day.

This article from Wikipedia also talks about the current Senators' terms expiring January 3, 2017. (This is what is known as the 3rd Class of Senators. Maybe not flattering, but I will leave it to the reader to decide how accurate. It has to do with the staggered terms of the Senate, not a prediction of how these guys would do back when the system was set up.)

America suffered a devastating blow with the death of Scalia. I’m afraid that the big guy upstairs has run out of patience with our once great Country. Today, more than ever I will follow bray’s request to “pray for America”. I will be heading to church during the next hour and when I get there I will kneel down and ask the Lord to once again bless our Nation.
I have never been as pessimistic as I am now for the future of our Republic. Please join me in prayer if you believe in God.

Do you really think going so over the top with your hatred of Trump is going to convince anyone of anything? There is nothing he has said or done to justify your predictions.

You call his supporters all types of names just like all of the Cruz supporters. Last night we saw where that originates.

I am not interested in a food fight so we can just leave it at that.

Cruz cannot win a national election. The only person who can win is Trump. Trump will say what we are all thinking even if it is risky business. We are all tired of the same big government b.s. Someone has to stop the nonsense and cut taxes and balance the budget. This buying votes with government money has to stop. This giving away the country to other countries should be over. Trump is the only hope we have to do something ASAP.
