You left out other quotes from that same 2000 book by Trump: “Democrats want to confiscate all guns, which is a dumb idea because only the law-abiding citizens would turn in their guns and the bad guys would be the only ones left armed” and “I generally oppose gun control.” Trump has also said more recently that his two oldest sons’ involvement in the NRA has moved him more to the right in this issue.

Trump’s campaign propaganda is no “record” of his conservative values. Closet LIEberals have infiltrated the NRA as well so I don’t see his sons involvement as any Conservative credentials. I go by Trumps actions. “Generally oppose” is one of those statements that Trump uses to ride the fence on the issue, but in the very next sentence saying for assault weapons ban is where his heart truly lies.
