I was just thinking. Maybe Ted Cruz’s mother notified the consulate at his birth but never bothered to pick up the certificate like my parents never did for me the birth certificate. It wasn’t until he needed a hard copy to go on an over seas field trip that the hard copy was ordered.
It could be true that his mom ordered his certificate at birth, but I would think he would have proudly showed that document. It’s strange that the only document of his that he has shown was a Canadian birth certificate, which is meaningless to the presidency.
If his consular birth abroad document is from his 17th year, he isn’t showing it, because everyone then thinks, gee, he wasn’t American until he was 16: how is he natural born?
And I find it dishonest of him not to explain this.

It’s also possible she didn’t notify them then, and later on, when applying for Ted’s passport for the overseas trip, found out she needed to get more paperwork, I.e. the crba, etc.
