I have a little bit of advice for Cruz and Rubio tomorrow when it comes to defeating Trump. Some of the advice is tactical, but the more important advice is strategic. Attack Trump early, relentlessly, on everything, and never, ever stop. The tactical advice is that you should stop saying that Trump is for single-payer. That is too bloodless. Say that Trump was for a government-owned, and government-rationed, health care monopoly. Also try to work in the argument that Trump would give us the corruption of the Clintons with the huge government of Bernie Sanders.

Yes, those people are becoming as loony as Glen Beck over Trump. It is really pathetic, and self-destructive.
A "Conservative" thinker. You reds crack me up. Does that mean you have precious little thought so that you have to conserve it? Go away.
I think you are under a major misconception. Both Ted Cruz & I, and many at Free Republic are able to explain a complex Conservative philosophy, as well as the clear intentions of the Founding Fathers, in terms for which the word merchants on the Left have no effective answer. We have trained ourselves to that purpose, because we saw the need in our personal dealings with the Leftists in Academia. (I went to Oberlin College for my four year undergraduate degree, precisely to make certain that I could dismantle the best verbal propagandists on the Left.)
There is nothing in that, or in anyone else, which demonstrates higher intelligence than someone who did not train themselves in that direction; but, rather, applied his brain in a somewhat different direction.
That Donald Trump is highly intelligent is not just indicated by his success, thus far, in this campaign--despite a lynch mob mentality among his detractors. A better indication is in his success in building beautiful buildings--the direction that he has applied himself in, prior to this campaign.
And that leads to another point, which is not so well understood. Trump as a builder, is almost an implied metaphor--if you would try verbally to understand him--for a sound Conservative. Builders of tall buildings apply the basic Conservative approach to social values; they build things on a firm foundation--that is the good ones do--step by step. The Founding Fathers built the heritage, we seek to preserve, in the same way; step by step, on a firm foundation.
The contrast is with the Left who are always trying to tear down the foundation, and start from scratch--not on anything grounded in human experience, but on cloud-borne theories. (For a look at the American approach for building a political society: .)
Trump may not be a debater in the academic sense. Yet his thinking is inherently based on experience & reason. He has lived the basis of our best verbal arguments.
Either Trump or Cruz could be a great President. We need to get them back to working together. They really do complement each other, both talent and appeal wise.
In contrast, those faux Conservative pundits, who smear either, offer nothing but an endless demonstration of their idiotic bias & intellectual inadequacy--their inability to actually understand any approach but their own.
Obamalated, I like that word for it. Ineligible candidates for president who are elected as if eligible = obamalated.
I will tell you how I get approximately 65% He is only drawing about 35% support. This election has evolved into either being for Trump or against Trump. No matter whom the 65% vote for, they have rejected Trump.
We’re not talking Trump’s life vs Rush Limbaughs. It’s Trump’s policies and beliefs going back decades. The man has supported amnesty, seizing people’s property, seizing guns, the Clintons/Obama, pro-choice...why do people dismiss out of hand a life time of liberal positions because he’s running for office? Has he admitted he was wrong about those past positions? Nope. His ego is to big to admit he was wrong. He just hopes people forget them because he’s counting on anger to carry him into the Whitehouse.

I'd never thought of that, but you're absolutely right.
He’s a great leader, why? He amassed a fortune getting seniors to dump their retirement accounts into his slot machines? I love it how people make excuses for Trump they would never accept from anyone else. The guy supported amnesty (who knows how many illegals work in his hotels), single payer (that will save him money paying for health insurance and dumping it on the govt), pro choice, pro homosexual marriage, seizing guns and people’s property. People argue his wealth makes him independent...I would argue it makes him more dependent on the banks than any other candidate, including Billary. He needs them to stay afloat financially.
Trump supports the government running healthcare, whether its single payer or some other mechanism, who cares. You’re supporting a guy based on a slogan and ignoring his entire history and character. Do you really think he’s going to kick 11+ million illegals out of the country? Do you really believe he’s going to stop China from currency manipulation when we are the biggest manipulators in the world?
Do you know why CRuz (usually) places his hand under his jacket when he says the pledge?

Well said!
NR jumped the shark. Obviously sissies. I remember them from high school. Always with a clarinet or a fold up chess board and a mother in a Volvo close enough to keep them from the ER if they got too close to a real fight.
Every well rounded kid knows that you should never swing a bottle or a rock against another guy unless you can actually knock him out.
NR tried to sucker punch Trump with their delicate little fists and it bounced off like they had punched Superman.
Now, emasculated, and never again a threat, their reputation is shot. Rich Lowery and the rest of you, get used to getting the sh** beat out of you every day between the school and the Volvo. Regards to your mother.
Given that most people don't know who Jeffrey Epstein is, Trump will probably survive.
My first reaction was that what candidates can do in a debate is different from what anonymous internet posters can get away with, but on reflection a candidate probably could bring up something like this if his campaign has done the groundwork and prepared at least some of the media for the reference.
Throw something like that into the debate without preparing part of the audience and it will go over like a lead balloon.
“Given that most people don’t know who Jeffrey Epstein is, Trump will probably survive.”
I betcha people searching the name during the debate would break the internet!
