What a difference a primary makes. After a one-week drop following Donald Trumpâs second-place finish in the Iowa caucus, expectations that the New York businessman will be the Republican presidential nominee have jumped back to their highest levels.
Rasmussen Reportsâ latest Trump Change survey, the first since Trumpâs big win in the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday, finds that 74% of Likely Republican Voters again feel he is likely to be the GOP nominee. This includes 40% who say itâs Very Likely, tying the high first reached three weeks ago.
Last week, 61% of Republicans still believed Trump was the likely nominee, but that was down from a high of 74% the week before.
Twenty-one percent (21%) of GOP voters say Trump is not likely to win the nomination, but that includes only six percent (6%) who feel itâs Not At All Likely. Those findings were up to 36% and 14% respectively a week ago. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
When Trump announced his candidacy in mid-June of last year, however, just 27% of Republicans â and 23% of all voters â said he was likely to end up as the 2016 GOP nominee.
Among all likely voters, 60% now think Trump is likely to be the Republican standard-bearer. Thatâs up from 52% in the previous survey but still short of the high of 63% reached two weeks ago. Thirty-three percent (33%) believe Trump will not be the nominee. These findings include 26% who say it is Very Likely that he will win the nomination and 12% who say itâs Not At All Likely.

I can’t solve your faith problem concerning Donald, but maybe you have a worse faith problem. It might be a faith problem towards God.
If you don’t get THAT square, you are going to be dithering back and forth between idols of various kinds.
I believe Donald because I first believed in God, who taught me that truth matters, matters, matters. And Donald has been puncturing one popular lie after another. If he is being a B.S. artist he has chosen a mighty strange way to be a B.S. artist.
Could it be that, to you, he actually comes across as too good to be true? That no man could nail things that well?
I’d actually agree with that, no man could. But if God has his back somehow, the picture changes.
Did you miss where Trump used Bill Clinton's history of sex crimes to nullify Hillary's "woman card"?
Trump is utterly ruthless. He's going to destroy Hillary.
Sanders? He'd have trouble beating Jeb.
What?! Donald is about as close to God as Lucifer. I don’t know. Maybe God has decided to let America boil in its own juices which is why we ended up with Johnson, Nixon, Carter, Clinton, and Obama. Maybe God is so sick of the homosexual pedophiles and baby killers he has told America “screw you”?
Well, God constantly likes to flummox Pharisees and you have just shown me the P card.
No, he won’t. His reek of insincerity will put off voters. Eventually he will give it all up on the campaign trail and admit he is all for a path to citizenship, wants to continue funding for abortion, and all the other things he really believes.
His proposal to temporarily halt admitting Muslims is essential for national security. Nobody has yet explained what how bringing in the Syrian radicals, many of the rapists, would improve our quality of life.
I mean, what better way than to send a “donkey” into the scene and have said donkey tell all the religious whiz kids — like you, and like Cruz — that they are all washed up?
We need to get behind our nominee and stop doing damage.
Basically, at this point the Trump attack ads are all Hillary / Sanders commercials because all they are accomplishing are hurting the candidate representing our party.
You don’t know me and I don’t know you so take your spiritual accusations and shove them up your ass.
He will offend the Pharisees.
He won’t offend the common believer.
Thanks for proving my point so richly!
Trump actually said he was going to switch to positive ads soon.
God you are deluded if you see Donald as the guy on the pony.
If he did that he'd lose. Does Trump look like a man who likes losing?
He won't do it when he's president either. He wants two terms. Maybe he'll save the big reveal for 2021. Or maybe he'll stick with his voters and join Reagan in the hall of heroes.
Guy on the pony?
There is no such figure in the bible.
You are so all fired high and mighty that you can let loose so assuredly with damnations, and yet you get THIS wrong?
No one, there has been no one, even good enough to lick Reagan’s dead toes in the political system these 3 decades since. And it sure the hell is not an image maker like Donald.
Max, you’re assuming this Sam-I-Am is some kind of logic whiz.
Once you STOP... then things become a lot simpler.
High and mighty? I would call myself barely a good person. Just barely. But that still puts me ahead of a indecent fellow like Trump.
Well, what an idolater YOU are. Maybe Reagan was part of the curse! To see if America would believe the nice looking cowboy who kept mouthing religious platitudes but scarcely gave a testimony about Christ (and whose wife was into astrology IIRC)... or would look PAST him, to heaven, of which man can only be an echo.
A fellow who punctures noisome lies bespeaks heaven better than RR did.
Oh, that makes you high and mighty all right. How about reading the bible sometime. Actual humble sinners confess equality, if not being worse than any other sinner.
