What a difference a primary makes. After a one-week drop following Donald Trumpâs second-place finish in the Iowa caucus, expectations that the New York businessman will be the Republican presidential nominee have jumped back to their highest levels.
Rasmussen Reportsâ latest Trump Change survey, the first since Trumpâs big win in the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday, finds that 74% of Likely Republican Voters again feel he is likely to be the GOP nominee. This includes 40% who say itâs Very Likely, tying the high first reached three weeks ago.
Last week, 61% of Republicans still believed Trump was the likely nominee, but that was down from a high of 74% the week before.
Twenty-one percent (21%) of GOP voters say Trump is not likely to win the nomination, but that includes only six percent (6%) who feel itâs Not At All Likely. Those findings were up to 36% and 14% respectively a week ago. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
When Trump announced his candidacy in mid-June of last year, however, just 27% of Republicans â and 23% of all voters â said he was likely to end up as the 2016 GOP nominee.
Among all likely voters, 60% now think Trump is likely to be the Republican standard-bearer. Thatâs up from 52% in the previous survey but still short of the high of 63% reached two weeks ago. Thirty-three percent (33%) believe Trump will not be the nominee. These findings include 26% who say it is Very Likely that he will win the nomination and 12% who say itâs Not At All Likely.

“How many will stay home instead?”
Only the idiots...
Lincoln supposedly said you can’t beat somebody with nobody. but Mrs. Bill is a shoo-in to take her native IL.
I agree. If his name was Bush or Romney, they’d already be saying how he was a shoo-in.
It’s ok. I want Trump to work for this. It shouldn’t come easy. Then he’ll appreciate it all the more. I think NH really tickled him.
BS...That says it all...
We had this happen in LA on Nov. 21, 2015, and the state has an Obama-bot governor to show for it. He is begging for huge tax hikes and threatening to shut down LSU football if he doesn’t get them.
That’s what I’m hearing. But, he’s not conservative.
Impressive crowd!!!
Nostradamus ???
Wow! There’s something to think about!
Wow, a bit much. On 5th Avenue?
Between Hillary & Trump or Bernie & Trump I predict the lowest turnout in 2 decades on BOTH sides.
The Cruz fans are so desperate. They know they are behind a loser but canât bring themselves into reality.

Cruz ain’t going no where...Rubio ain’t going no where...Bush ain’t going no where. Trump will be the nominee. The Cruzbots & Cruzholes need to get a clue.
Wow. Disappointed? Where are my pearls? I gots ta be clutchin’ ma pearls.
Just a week ago the weekly standard said Trump was going to lose to one of the Rinos like Rubio or Jeb because he missed the Fox debate.
Wishful thinking
