I think that's a very good analysis. It explains the post, but IMO, does not excuse it. And I'm guessing you'd agree with that.
Either Nugent gets in front of this fast, with an explanation/apology, or he's done as an effective mainstream spokesman for gun rights.

It’s been known for years that Waters is a piece of anti-semitic scum and always has been.
He has that unique brand of British upper-class twit Anti-Semitism, where folks wouldn’t utter the word ‘Israel’ if you put a .45 to their heads. To them, it is, and always will be “Occupied Palestine”.
It would be interesting to know is he has said anything that would indicate he buys this dog squeeze nutjobery in the past. If not, I wonder what changed?

As was noted by another poster earlier, there is no way a Nugent fan can put any kind of positive spin on this. Nugent has done great damage to the cause here.
Yes, but why did he try to advance the theory that gun control is some sort of Jewish conspiracy in his Facebook Post ? Sure, some leftist Jews are for gun control, but so are leftist Protestants and Catholics (the operative word is leftist). His post just looked to me like a variant on "it's the Jews".
THIS is news? We’ve known for over fifty years that many anti-gun people were Jewish. Also Baptists, Methodists, Catholics. Most of the Liberal religious figures are very anti-gun.

So “Jew York City” is fine with you? If you actually looked at the graphic he posted and you can’t recognize that it is anti-Semitic, there’s something seriously wrong with you.
The entertainer in question reposted a meme from a neo-Nazi site wrongfully blaming Jewish people in general, and Israel in particular, for gun control efforts in the USA.
There were multiple things wrong with the post:
1. First off, it used the Israeli flag in connection with various liberal politicians who are not remotely Zionist.
2. It did show a bunch of stupid liberals who are anti-self defense, all of whom happen to be Jewish. But Jewish liberal idiots are outnumbered 98:2 by gentile liberal idiots, so selecting just the Jewish idiots seems rather . . . . se;selectively outraged.
3. It slandered conservative, gun-wielding, Jewish people like myself.
4. It wrongfully conflated Israel with the issue. Yes, Israel has very strict gun-control because 20% of our population are savages. But Israel has a gun-in-home rate higher than Texas. My wife and I have 2 select fire M16s and two 9mm, for example. Never leave home without one. Generally have the rifle on my back at the vineyard in the Golan. (It’s certainly in the truck.) My daughters prefer their Tavors.
Then Nugent doubled-down on his stupid repost, which made things worse.
A huge percent of Jewish people in the USA are college educated, urban, north eastern dwellers.
They vote just like their college educated, urban, north eastern neighbors.
We’re 1.7% of the population. If every Jewish person in the USA always voter for a Republican president, maybe Gore v. Bush would have been easier, but Obama would still be president.

The one thing about Idiotic conspiracy theories is that they show what is in people’s hearts and minds. When it comes out, you know if they are idiots or rational.
Actually, great Americans aren’t draft-dodging pedophiles. I guess there are a lot of people willing to overlook that because they like his politics, I don’t happen to be one.
