Where does Cruz get the title of such a great debater? He has lost every debate and in a couple of them came in third or forth?
He is long on words and short on ideas. He basically gives short stump speeches.
I thought he’d wipe the floor with all of them in the debates.
Talk about overrated. I thought Christie was the best debater ever.
He may have been an impressive debater on the college circuit, but not on the campaign trail. However, he doesn’t have the force of personality to back up his many words. Trump takes charge and is clearly the alpha male in this group.
I think it was yesterday that I posted about this. It seems that lawyers like Cruz, Rubio, etc., do well in their careers. But let’s face it, trying a case in court is basically scripted. You know the questions you’ll be asking. You’ll know what the answers will be. (”Never ask a question you don’t know the answer to.”) Then you’ll ask another question based on that answer, and so forth. They have weeks to prepare the script. All that needs to be added are some theatrics and gestures in the right places. Big win.
But when it comes to impromptu situations like the style of current “debates”, and Q & A meetings, they can’t cut it. Can’t think on their feet. They choke.
Just because he won college debates...ON A TEAM AGAINST ANOTHER TEAM....people claim that he is a "GREAT DEBATER"; but he isn't! He can't think on his feet and if he hadn't bmeorizered something, he's always at a complete loss!
