Will they Cruzify Ted?
The Spectator ^ | 2/11/16 | David Flint

Posted on 02/11/2016 4:42:57 AM PST by TBBT

The progressive elites will try to do to Cruz what they did to Abbott

The American mainstream media, the Republican Party establishment and the Democratic Party are determined that Ted Cruz not be sworn in as the 45th president.

Anyone with that opposition must be formidable.

That he is. Campaigning against Federal ethanol subsidies in Iowa, a major corn producing state, and against all poll predictions, Cruz defeated the media's favourite, Donald Trump, receiving more votes than any Republican candidate ever had. Cruz is the candidate most motivated by his attachment to traditional American principles. For his opponents, these are principles to which lip service only should be accorded these days. But the principles under which a Cruz administration would operate are the very ones on which the American Republic was founded.

Cruz does not merely mouth the proposition that all men have been endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, he lives by this. As Texas Solicitor General he had been one of America's most successful public constitutional lawyers, with a string of successes in the Supreme Court. Having memorised it while still a schoolboy, the Constitution remains his guide to the good governance of the Union. By this he means the Constitution according to the original intention of the Founding Fathers, not that fictional 'living organism' which is the tool of activist judges who claim it means whatever they want it to mean.

Bringing up crucifiction in defence if Ted is literally offensive.

Ted Cruz is not Jesus Christ, and citizens not preferring him does not make him a sacrificial lamb.

At what point does the absurdity become over the top even to a Cruz supporter, or is that even possible?

Equal to those women libbers saying if you don’t support Hillary there’s a special place in hell. Sad....very sad....

But I won't remain silent as Mark Levin goes full hack against Trump for weeks on end.

Maybe Levin is trying to warn people that Trump is a 60s liberal staking out a couple of conservative positions to get the nomination.

Followed by God-knows-what after inauguration.

"At what point does the absurdity become over the top even to a Cruz supporter, or is that even possible?"

C'mon you know the answer to that.

As a side note, yesterday Medved had a seminar Cruz caller which claimed to support him for all the reasons we read here, "constitutional conservative", "christian values", etc. By the end of the short call he had invalidated each one of these "qualities". Leaving her to say, "well, I guess I'd have to think about that one" to each reason she supports him.

Point is, Ted is these things because his believers have faith he is.

'Sad' is having an pathological urge to jump in and crap all over any thread with the word 'Cruz' in it.

The are a couple of handfuls of Freeper so afflicted.

Too bad folks can't simply support their candidate, or at least refrain from schoolyard taunts.

If you can imagine stuff then so can I. I imagine that Cruz was telling Clinton, “do not support me Bill!”

‘False witness’ presupposes intent to mislead.

Trump is proposing things many folks in our nation have wanted for decades. People agree with him. There’s nothing wrong with that. He is publicly advocating Conservative things. This you reduce to folks only thinking of him as a rock star?

You insult the dynamic by intimating they think of him as a messiah?

What exactly do you think the process should look like.

1. don’t advocate for Conservative policy
2. don’t hold rallies
3. don’t go on TV

You’re not the only person to advance the concepts you have, so this isn’t only directed at you.

Don’t you folks ever stop and ask yourself what you really want, if not this?

I’ve never in my life seen people so upset after being presented with something they have hoped for for nearly thirty years.

He’s not religious. That is the problem. The bashing of his conservatism is a dog whistle about his faith.

Very strange observation. Not sure why you keep repeating this. If you think Ted Cruz is “creepy,” you must’ve thought Ronald Reagan “creepy” too.

Ted’s supporters are practicing identity politics.

Cruz is scholar. He has never held a job outside of govt. We have had enough of that kind who get nothing done in the real world. Trump is a bare knuckles brawler. Bring it on.

Ted Cruz is not Jesus Christ,

Neither were the two thieves who were crucified beside Him - and a great many other people who ran afoul of the Romans.

The strongest evidence of “intent to mislead” is the “big announcement next week” that Spence Rogers cited in his email. Neither CNN nor the Carson campaign said anything about that. It was a total fabrication.

I find it quite interesting that Cruz, who is a lawyer, hasn’t produced a CRBA (Consular Report of Birth Overseas) but has released his MOTHER’S birth certificate. Cruz knows damn well that the CRBA settles the question of whether he’s a citizen, and that the “natural born” question will remain live in any event.

That little intentional omission and refusal smells like dead fish. Why doesn’t Cruz present the documents that PROVE he is a U.S. Citizen? NBC of course is still an issue but at least prove he is eligible to hold a U.S. Senate seat!

If for some crazy reason Cruz was the nominee against Sanders, or heaven forbid, Clinton, either one would destroy Cruz with this in revenge for Obama’s treatment.

On the basis of all available evidence today, Ted Cruz is in fact holding a seat in the U.S. Senate illegally, with no documented proof of legal U.S. citizenship whatsoever, and proof of Canadian citizenship between the years of birth in 1970 and May 2014.

It is unfortunate that a person so many have placed their political faith in has proven willing to defraud his supporters for both votes and millions in campaign donations. But it is better we know now, than after he wins the GOP nomination only to be destroyed by Democrats later.

This matter has to be settled.

Who cares what this idiot has to say? He's the idiot who vetted Supreme Court Justice Kennedy who gave us same sex marriage. He's a loser.
