(CNN)The national spokesman for Ted Cruz's presidential campaign is calling the Donald Trump campaign "the Seinfeld candidacy," because as he puts it, "The whole campaign is about nothing."
Rick Tyler told CNN's Erin Burnett that Trump says "nothing about immigration, nothing about job creation, nothing about what's going on in North Korea, nothing about ISIS. I mean this is amazing."
Tyler said Cruz is running a campaign about conservative issues and that Trump fails to discuss the issues because he isn't a true conservative.
Both Trump and Cruz are eying key primaries in southern states starting with South Carolina, which holds its primary February 20.
Tyler added that "Donald Trump's own worst enemy is himself." ...

He had the personality of and uses the sleazy tactics of Nixon.
If he somehow won, there would be instant gridlock.
That’s what all the polls said in Iowa, which is Bible-belt-light. Nope, the Donald is going down hard right across the Bible Belt. And there is no way he’s taking Texas...he might as well set up his campaign headquarters at the Alamo.
There are degrees of Christianity from the Gregorian chant folks to the snake handlers. Cruz seems to be more on the snake handler branch.
You don’t get it, must not be a Seinfeld fan.
I beg to differ. Trump has the highest unfavorable rating of any candidate in the history of polling for unfavorables.
According to the RCP averages, Trump loses to Hitlery AND Hillary in a head-to-head matchup right out of the box.
You guys really need to start paying attention to Trump’s numbers (among other things).
What sleazy tactics would those be?
Make that Hitlery and Sanders, not Hitlery and Hillary...LOL
Nonsense. The other bums are parroting Trump.
Be honest. Is the Jeb campaign paying you to destroy Senator Cruz on Free Republic?
If you don’t vote for Cruz you are a fake Christian and fake conservative.
We know the line. You guys repeat it 1000 times a day.
You didn’t even disagree with what I said. Cruz people believe they have the right to hold people’s faith and conservatism over their heads in a sick attempt to cajole them into voting for Cruz.
Cruz the Globalist certainly wants to see The Trump Wall as nothing, and he wants it to remain non-existent.
Ted Cruz has held the vast majority of his current positions for years. If anything, Donald Trump is just trying to one-up Cruz. Except at some point conservatives are going to realize there is no there, there with Trump’s rhetoric, because there are very few specifics, and no record to back him up. You just have to take his word for it. Not so with Ted Cruz.
And whatever show cruz is would get cancelled before its first season comes to an end.
Your words regarding Cruz ring of the vile attacks I would expect from someone under the influence of the enemy of mens souls.........Cruz's history, his love for this nation and God are evident to any who know the man......and that's across the Christian Community....that is indisputable.
LOL. I love it.
I have read news reports of Ted Cruz calling for a wall, work place enforcement, no path to citizenship, tripling the size of the border batrol, etc, etc...going all the way back to 2012. As I said, it looks to me like the Donald took a look at Ted’s issues and crafted a campaign to one-up his main competition. But he has no record to back it up, and as I said, the record he does have goes in the opposite direction to what he is saying now.
Save your speech church lady. The Cruz religious nuttiness should play right into the democrat hands.
At least you are tacitly admitting this Cruz aide is full of it, because you acknowledge that Trump’s campaign has some substance, even if you don’t agree with it nor believe in it.
