What War With China Would Look Like
Daily Caller ^ | 11:11 AM 01/28/2016 | David Archibald

Posted on 02/10/2016 8:25:44 PM PST by Zhang Fei

It will be a small-scale rerun of the island hopping of the Pacific campaign of World War 2. This campaign will start with the air base on Mischief Reef, 250 km west of Palawan. This puts it in range of ATACMS missiles with a range of 300 km. The United States has possibly some 2,000 of these in stock. The amphibious attack on Mischief Reef will be associated with the suppression of the airfields on Subi Reef and Fiery Cross Reef. From Mischief Reef, it is then on to the airfield on Subi Reef and then all the other island bases can be rolled up. The Chinese Navy and air force will exhaust themselves in trying to protect these bases, which is a very good thing. Those Spratly bases are China's point, and moment, of weakness.

Some Chinese academics have crowed that China has already won the coming war because President Obama doesn't have the stomach for a major war, as demonstrated by his announcing red lines and then not enforcing them. But just as his penchant for drone attacks on jihadists is a surprising character quirk in an otherwise avowed dove, he did spend some formative years in Indonesia where anti-Chinese sentiment is strong.

As to why we have to fight China, good advice comes from people who have been fighting the Chinese for over one thousand years. As quoted in the Pentagon Papers, Ho Chi Minh said,"the white man is finished in Asia. But if the Chinese stay now, they will never leave. As for me, I prefer to smell French shit for five years, rather than Chinese shit for the rest of my life." Take that advice to heart - a smaller war now is better than a bigger one later.

Yakhont and Sunburn are not experimental. The Yakhont was developed in 1997 and the Sunburns were acquired in 2000 along with Sovremenny destroyers to deploy them.

Red Dawn?

Old 80's movie, minor classic. John Milius. Starred Patrick Swayze, Powers Boothe, several C-list talents. You can find it searching by title on IMDB.com.

I sometimes wonder is Obama has some form of multiple personality disorder. The things he claims to believe in are all over the place.

I've read that it's considered in elite circles to be a leadership trait, to have the ability to hold in one's mind two opposed and mutually-exclusive ideas and actually use them, without becoming confused or conflicted.

O'Musselman has certainly been both a Stalinist and a Moslem sympathizer (if not taqiyya practitioner) for 35 years now. He may have that quality.

and everyone else would be put under psychiatric care for the same condition.

Double standards, gotta love’em.

Crayons on whiteboard version, dumbed down for tire salesmen and beauticians.

Still a great scene, and a great movie, if you don't take it too seriously. First time I ever saw T-62's and -72's and Shilka's used as movie props. (The Shilka was the antiaircraft tank: ZSU 23-4.)

Now I want my own T-54. Everybody else has one!

;)

It would not serve us or China.

Exactly, there is no benefit to either side.

Heck we would destroy their economy over night just by not paying on our debt and stopping their imports. Why would they want that?

What would we have to show after a conflict, the loss of half our navy. I know lets invade mainland China it will be loads of fun.

3. China will start restricting the Port of Los Angeles and other port and transportation facilities they now control in the United States. Commerce on the West Coast and to and from Asia will grind to a halt.

Which would immediately be Nationalized under the Enemy act, as would any other Chinese properties.

Aren't we assuming taht the Chinese would not retaliate against the US in increasingly nasty ways:
1. Cyber attack against the US and Japanese military crippling infrastructure and C4I
2. Use of cargo ships as platforms for missile attacks on US bases in the Pacific including those in Hawaii, Alaska, Puget Sound, and California
3. Cyber attack on US civilian infrastructure starting with the private American companies and the financial institutions to scare American civilians, and escalating into attacks on banking, the power grid, and other utilities.

The build up of ChiCom single men and the military buildup will boil over at some point. We need to win quick because our industrial base is so weakened.

1/5th of the Mexican population is Chinese Nationals? I doubt that. Where are they in Mexico?

Everywhere else they have tried ‘moving into’ in Latin America they have been not received well. Brazil sent them packing and when the Chinese tried to swamp some of the Peruvian mines the Peruvians put a halt to that too.

Sometimes, War Comes to You, whether you want it, or not.

We are not having a war with China. It would not serve us or China.

And the “real” Red Dawn. Not the piece of crap remake.

What an absolutely fun movie, with some many good young talents.

“Avenge us!”

Obama would surrender immediately to the Chinese. Moa is his god.

I'm sure there are a lot of guys out there who could accommodate Obama to within 1 MOA.

Thanx for the map of Palawan ... Palawan Passage being the site of one of the successful actions in the Navy's glorious victory called collectively the Battle of Leyte.

Are you suggesting the Chinese will claim Palawan and the Sulu Sea next? George Takei will be pissed.

Well they already have Vancouver. Oh and Las Vegas

I'm pretty unhappy about that Chinese colony, that is now the management or nearly so, in Vancouver. Of course, my cousin's Canadian-born wife thinks I'm just a racist for noticing stuff like that ... but then I've never met a Canadian who thinks like Gwynn Dyer, i.e. strategically.

But Las Vegas? Who says Vegas is overrun with Chinese? The Vegas Mob would never permit it.

I didn’t write the article; I just posted the image so everyone would know where the place was.

Who cares what some washed up 2nd rate personality thinks or feels?
