Carson staying in race, sees South Carolina victory
CNN ^ | February 10, 2016 | Tom LoBianco

Ben Carson said Wednesday he will be staying in the Republican race, despite a poor showing in New Hampshire, and is hoping to win big in South Carolina.

"I'm not getting any pressure from our millions of supporters (to leave the race). I'm getting a lot of pressure to make sure I stay in the race," Carson told CNN's Jake Tapper on "The Lead." "You know, they're reminding me that I'm here because I responded to their imploring me to get involved. And I respect that and I'm not just going to walk away from the millions of people who are supporting me."

But Carson, who at one point attracted strong support from evangelical voters, said he expected to do well in South Carolina.

"I think I can win South Carolina. We're going to be putting a lot of time resources and effort here," Carson said.

Carson also downplayed his New Hampshire loss, saying he decided not to focus there on purpose.

"We didn't spend nearly as much money in New Hampshire as many others," Carson said. "We didn't spend anywhere near millions of dollars there, recognizing there were certain things that were going to happen there. So you have to pick your battles very carefully. We're doing just fine, people will continue to support us, we will move forward."

At this point, he’s a vote-splitting spoiler candidate.

“If he has the money and desire, I say go as long as you want.”

It’s irrational thinking like this that gave us McCain and Romney as our nominees.

“Will Dr. Carson get some sympathy votes, instead of their going to Cruz, because of the Iowa campaign shenanigans?”
*****************************************************************************
LOL - Like the “massive” sympathy vote he received in New Hampshire?

So who do you suggest should “Gong Show” the losers out of the primaries?

Considering Christi likely endorsing Trump if he drops out, and also suspected of getting the robot Rubio kill-shot from Donald Trump campaign, and Carson also speaking positively about Trump, I have a feeling that Carson is now, at this point, working for the Trump campaign and is probably in South Carolina to split Cruz’s vote.

Cruz lost the conservative vote to Donald Trump by wide margins in New Hampshire. With Carson still there, it keeps Cruz's Iowa fraud in people's minds, as reporters will keep asking Carson about it or he'll keep mentioning it. Carson has high favorables despite low poll numbers.

That’s naps’ idea. He wants to nominate another northeastern RINO, favorite son of NH because, you know, it worked out so well for us last time.

Trump is not a liberal. You guys are just so bitter after losing so horribly. Get over it. Trump only has 20 points ahead in South Carolina.

Stay in the race Ben. The more outsiders the better. Get some delegates so that if there is a brokered convention, we can win.

Carson came in 4th in Iowa and received three delegates. He beat, among others, Bush and Kasich who are still in the race.

For New Hampshire, Carson was polling around 3%; he got 2.3%, which might indicate that he lost votes rather than getting sympathy votes. Although I suspect New Hampshirites are more prone to thinking, “Suck it up,” while South Carolinians would have more sympathy for him.

Carson staying in will keep votes away from Bush and Rubio who we want weakened as much as possible.

He has no support or path to the nomination. He could be there to trumpet and siphon off votes hoping it will pay off with a VP slot.

Nowhere in my post does it say that. However, you guys are such liars which explains why you support Cruz. I am sick of you freaks. We have to put up with this until June when cruz finally gets out of the race. He has passed one dumb bill in 3 years......he is overpaid for when you see his results. Why you support socialism is beyond me.
