Like Donkey Kong. Ted Cruz scored a surprising third-place finish in New Hampshire in yesterday's first-in-the-nation primary, and now it looks like he's going for a knockout before South Carolina. Cruz tweeted out the campaign's latest web ad after his victory, one that takes aim at the winner, Donald Trump. The ad depicts children playing with their new "Donald Trump action figure," and says what he does most is "pretend to be a Republican"...
It's a tour de force of counter-Trump arguments. The ad manages to mention Trump's friendship with Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid (and adds in a shot at Anthony Weiner, too). Bailouts and Too Big To Fail get mentioned, but it's Trump's support for eminent domain that gets most of the attention (video):

“Looks like it is âHail Maryâ in the Cruz camp. These are the sort of ads losing campaign run hoping for something to turn thing around.”
Yep, looks like the ad an entrenched Gov lifetime politician would run.
Not really going anywhere.
I don't think we have many chances left to save our Constitution. Cruz will definitely give it more time.
Once we move past following the Constitution (and we have in many ways); our nation will change very quickly
Which makes Ted's ad an even bigger fail. There's video widely circulating with him stating ED is perfectly legal.
It ranks right up there as one of my favorite baseball memories.
It didn’t happen. You and your candidate know it. Let it go. You’re acting like liberals.
Cruz would make a great ‘Mayberry Pastor’, or Barney Fife, replacement.
..Even conservatives support eminent domain for legitimate public purposes. But that does not include expansion of private business...
The failed Keystone Pipeline that Cruz supported required eminent domain to acquire right of way for it.
The pipeline exclusively expanded private business.
It would have moved oil sent by a Canadian cororation through a corporate owned Pipeline to a corporate owned depot to be put on corporate owned tankers to be sent to corporations in Asia to be refined by corporations to be sold there. Not a drop of that oil would remain in the USA.
Absolutely no USA public purpose.
The problem is, if Trump admits it, he will have to admit he is a big, giant liberal...not an anti-establishment CONSERVATIVE.
“You left out that Donald Trump is in favor of using the state to take your private property for himself.”
Trump can’t take anything for himself. The state puts ED property up for sale if they aren’t going to use it for govt purposes.
Soros could buy it. Hillary could buy it. Trump could buy it.
Try being truthful if you can.
By the way. That was such a big win, I have to remind myself it wasn’t the last game of the World Series about every time I watch it. I find it hard to believe it was only the first game of the series.
Well, you can’t cite those views. He’s had a campaign conversion.
It may be time to goad Trump into overreacting. Again. There are a lot of people who seem not to care that Trump is unhinged, but as the race consolidates into a three, then two, person contest, the focus will tighten. Trump's temperament is one of the two things that make it difficult for so many people to support him. The other is distrust that he actually means anything he says. Trump may not think that going ballistic will hurt him, but it will.
I don't think the ad will be up for long. There are services that test the efficacy of ads, and I think this one will not work for Cruz. He'll commission another one.
“If I was Trump, Iâd admit it! The Republicans are part of the problem, and funny thing is, Cruz agrees.”
EXACTLY!
Trump should wear it as a badge of honor!
“The Keystone Pipeline is a private project.”
It can it be reasonably argued that the Keystone is national interest, while additional parking for Trump is private interest.
Ted did win in New Hampshire, he won there by placing in the top three without even trying, when all the talking heads were saying he’d be lucky if he placed in the top five.
Trump is TOAST.
In cases like Kelo, I think the question is also, "what is 'public use'".
Roads and public parks is one thing. Giving land to a private developer to build condos is not that thing.
It's stuff like this that makes it hard to keep pulling for Ted as my #2. Instead of half truths, innuendo and speculation about the other guy, why doesn't he stick to what he has accomplished and what he intends to do to make America great? And don't say build the wall, Mr. Trump already has that market cornered.
Well, at least you’re good for comic relief.
