It’s on: New Cruz ad ridicules Trump as fake Republican

Like Donkey Kong. Ted Cruz scored a surprising third-place finish in New Hampshire in yesterday's first-in-the-nation primary, and now it looks like he's going for a knockout before South Carolina. Cruz tweeted out the campaign's latest web ad after his victory, one that takes aim at the winner, Donald Trump. The ad depicts children playing with their new "Donald Trump action figure," and says what he does most is "pretend to be a Republican"...

It's a tour de force of counter-Trump arguments. The ad manages to mention Trump's friendship with Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid (and adds in a shot at Anthony Weiner, too). Bailouts and Too Big To Fail get mentioned, but it's Trump's support for eminent domain that gets most of the attention (video):

Don't tell Jeb, he'll try to trim the crust off of him.

On second though, do. That'd be fun to watch.

[Cruz supporters have higher IQ’s, can read and write script, have more than a 4th grade vocabulary and generally have higher educations.]

Not that I can judge from the hillbillies calling in to these shows, whose comments could barely be considered coherent, and couldn’t explain themselves out of a wet paper bag as to WHY they are supporting Cruz.

You really think that abatement only applied to a dilapidated hotel at the time of purchase?

Here’s another source citing the $400 million figure. If you don’t like that source do some googling. There are plenty of others.

So it’s rational in your mind to think he was given $10 million dollars per year for forty years based on this one $10 million dollar hotel?

That doesn’t sound fishy to you at all?

You would have me believe he got $400 million dollars from the city. I’m just not buying it.

Yes, Trump is my first pick, I don’t deny it, Cruz ‘was’ my second pick. Ever since Tedkin hooked up with Beck he’s become smarmy! Yes...smarmy. I don’t know, maybe he was always smarmy and Beck has nothing to do with his childish behavior?

Just like Cruz was so (faux)upset with the cartoonist, when Ted had been and continues to use his daughters in his campaign. And now.... DisgusTED uses other peoples children to further his campaign? Really, that’s acceptable? IMO the cartoonist and Cruz are both guilty of using children for their own personal gains.

My guess, this will backfire on Cruz, in a big way.

Property tax breaks on the improved property over 40 years. It’s not a $10 million dollar hotel.

After SC and the field is down to 3-4, Trump’s corrupt and liberal past will get much more exposure. Field is too crowded right now to get that oint across effectively.

Great points.
I totally agree.

Let me know when you figure out what he paid for it.

I understand what you are trying to say, but eminent domain is to be used only for a public “purpose”, not public “good”. If it was public “good”, that would leave way too much room for abuse.

The tax breaks aren’t based on what he paid for it. They’re based on what it’s worth has been over the past 40 years.

“Trump is right about eminent domain. There would be no interstate highways, airports or oil pipelines without it.”

That is PUBLIC use, limo parking for a casino, condos, shopping centers, factories are NOT public use. Trump has said “eminent domain made me rich”. For PRIVATE projects developers should have to “deal make” and negotiate with the property owners.

If you wish to think he benefited from $400 million dollars worth of city largess, go ahead.

There’s something more to this than meets the eye. It doesn’t pass the sniff test.

He bought the thing for $10 million, but somehow got $400 million from the city.

That’s absurd.

That "strong man" government has been a major problem for the last 7 years - or at least, the last five since the GOP took over the House.

Depends on the strong man.

I would rather vote for Putin over Obungo, and he's not even a citizen!

Trump's plans are often FAR more pie-in-the-sky, difficult to implement than most of Cruz'. Having Mexico pay for the wall? Banning all Muslims? What makes you think any President could get others to agree to that or find the exec. powers to do it?

A dearth of imagination is almost as bad as total ignorance.

Everything that you list have historically been done before.
With or without a dysfunctional, ignorant populace.

As someone once said,"We do these things not because they ahh easy... but because they are hahd..."
