Donald Trump won a convincing victory in New Hampshire. We congratulate him, and hope that we will not have to do it many more times.

It’s for real. I just simply copied his Twitter comment. It’s a certified page. I was pretty surprised myself.

Since when did the Republican party become conservative? I have only seen one conservative elected in my adult life and that was Ronald Reagan and the GOP establishment did not like him either. They have been in bed and under the covers with the liberal democRATS since as far back as I can remember. If the Republicans think they can win by being nice, we will get a liberal democRAT elected every time. Because the dems play down and dirty, while we stand around worried about whether Trump is a true conservative or not. Get over it. He's not.

I am sick and tired of supporting the same candidates election after election that the Republican establishment has foisted upon us voters so, even if they do win, they do not upset the cozy, comfy apple cart existence of the elites. Time to quit voting for the same tired old men who run by the same old rules and play the same old game as always and ending up not doing a damn thing when they get to DC. That's what the GOPe and National Review wants. I don't.

Time to elect an outsider who can shake things up and maybe get things done. A successful businessman like Trump. Someone who can get it done without being influenced by paid-for lobbyists and donors. Even a pitcher in baseball has to throw a change-up pitch once in awhile to put the batter off kilter. Time to make America a winner again. Whether Trump passes the conservative litmus test is not what I'm looking for this time around. I've had enough of that from the so-called GOP establishment who force a loser on us almost every time they decided who they want us to vote for.

Trump may be a bull in a china shop but I think that is the only way we can save this country from further ruin. Knock some stuff over, break a few establishment traditions and crash the DC scene. That's why I am supporting Trump, not because he's a conservative. But because he knows how to get things done.

At least you are honest that you have abandoned conservatism and are now pushing an ideology this site is opposed to.

Feel free to go start that website and please take all the former conservatives here running around saying stuff like “it’s not about liberal vs. conservative anymore” with you.

As I was reading the entire editorial I kept thinking to myself,"This sounds familiar." There was something about the style and tone of the writing.

Then it suddenly came to me: Those NY Times editorials I read growing up. Deja vu.

To quote Marco Rubio, "It's time to dispel with this fiction that..."

... a vote for Trump is a vote for a non-conservative. On the issues that matter the absolute most to me (Illegal Immigration and Homeland Security), he is the most conservative candidate running by a mile.

Build a wall. Keep the Muslims out.

So many people I used to respect, not just that they differ with my view, but that they make no attempt to understand the majority of conservative-—YES, CONSERVATIVE-—voters in America.

We are coming to a schism between Americans and conservatives. I vote American.

Look telling me i hate Jesus and America with not backing Cruz as your only “evidence” is making you look not only a fool but an ass as well. That sir is the worst accusation one can make. Obviously you believe you are a Christan, but your lame repeated mantra not only is the work of Satan by seeding anger and discord shows who your true master is. Prayerfully consider your post, obviously there should not be this level of discord on this site. Im sorry for the language, but no other terms seemed adequate.

The type of slime that run the ‘National Review’, would dump a family of illegals using Section 8 on your rental property, trade your son or daughters job for H1-B1 Indians, then wave the flag and shot off fireworks.

Someone posted a lefty screed here by a Colorado journalist, and I searched the guy’s name (can’t remember it now, a Mr. Whiskers of some sort) and clicked on his tweets.
There’s Rich Lowry and his U VA crossed swords and he’s rubbing elbows like he’s got a key.

OK, sure—Trump used to hang out with and donate to liberals, Republicans and other dinks when he was just a free-booting `just made my first billion’ man-about-town. He partied with them because he ... owned them.
But Lowrey & Co. are supposed to be conservatives, right? `A Bad Night for Conservatives’.
It cracked me up to see the too-cool graphics the other day: `Cruz is an independent thinker’ and ya da ya da ya da, when we know he’s been push polling both Iowa and NH to find out from voters what they want to hear, while also saying things like, `Did you know Donald Trump has ... a third nipple?!’ click.
If you tried to tell Trump what to say I suppose he would tell you where to go.
Is he “conservative”? Probably not, but he doesn’t pretend to be something he’s not. He’s something else.

So I’m fed up with rats like the ones at NR pretending to be `America First, Americans First!’ conservatives, when in fact they are open border/cheap labor/globalist/`Let’s invade!’ touts & whores, bought and sold.
Trump’s saying all the right things and making the right moves, and he may be faking it.
But the NR “conservatives” and their boys *are* fakes. In 2008, McCain, 2012 Romney. Now, Bush, Rubio.
Grrrrrrrr rant over
