North Korea has executed its army chief of staff, Ri Yong Gil, South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported on Wednesday, which, if true, would be the latest in a series of executions, purges and disappearances under its young leader.
The news comes amid heightened tension surrounding isolated North Korea after its Sunday launch of a long-range rocket, which came about a month after it drew international condemnation for conducting its fourth nuclear test.
A source familiar with North Korean affairs also told Reuters that Ri had been executed. The source declined to be identified, given the sensitivity of the matter.

I guess they don’t believe in happy retirements. Even after a lifetime of (supposedly) faithful service.
Gotta hand it to the Norks. They kill people more creatively than Texas could ever imagine.

How long before this butcher meets his fate? Killing off the top leadership will force the hand of those still around just out of fear of their own safety.
So, it may be that the calorically challenged dear leader with the weird haircut is a classic neurosyphillitic [e.g., 3rd stage}with strong paranoid issues. It is amazing that he hasn't been offed, after all, even the NORK Army can't afford to lose all of its flag rank officers.
