That candle holder is a menorah, and it commemorates the rededication of the Temple after it was recaptured by the Maccabees & followers from the tyrant Antiochus Epiphanes.

It is central to Jewish worship & is lit during Hannukah.

(I’m not Jewish, did I get it right?)

There are two types of Menorahs
The seven branch Menorah is the everyday Menorah
The nine (Eight plus the Shamush branch) is used only at
Chanukkah. Although most people are familiar with the
Chanukkah Menorah - the seven branch Menorah came first
