GOP front-runner Donald Trump and Democrat Bernie Sanders have been declared the winners of the first primary of the 2016 election season in New Hampshire Tuesday.
It's especially a big night tonight in the Republican race for the nomination, as several GOP candidates had been competing for the coveted second spot behind Trump, who led in New Hampshire polls by double-digit margins for months.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich claimed the GOP's second spot Tuesday.
After results were posted, the Huffington Post ran with the headline, "A racist, sexist demagogue just won the New Hampshire primary."
CNN's Wolf Blitzer declared the victory represents a "major, major win for Donald Trump."
And CNN's Jack Tapper said Trump's win is a "remarkable thing to behold."
The New Hampshire Secretary of State William Gardner predicted 550,000 ballots would be cast, a turnout of about six in 10 registered voters.
A CNN exit poll Tuesday found about 75 percent of GOP voters said they were very worried about the U.S. economy, 60 percent said they were very worried about terrorism, and 90 percent said they were dissatisfied with the federal government.
And an ABC News exit poll found two-thirds of Republican voters said they favor a temporary ban on U.S. entry for Muslims who are not U.S. citizens, an idea that originated with Trump in December. Also, nearly half of GOP voters said they want a candidate from "outside the political establishment."

GO TRUMP!!
Wrong...
No, probably he was the most voted among the conservatives. But NH always goes for liberal or populist candidates at the top. After all, it is New England.
Would you ‘waterboard’ ISIS terrorists?
I would waterboard, and so would Ted Cruz ... didn’t you watch the debate ? Go back and listen carefully to Ted Cruz’s answer ...
Lawyers generally tend to be control freaks... Look how well they look out for our military now... Why our military are not allow to bear arms on a military base...
.
I agree with John McCain about many things ...
Beer tastes great, steak is delicious, space travel is amazing ...
but I still despise John McCain politically.
Ted Cruz simply agreed (partially) with a sliver of a remark that John McCain made.
Does that make Ted Cruz another Obama ?
Hardly.
Ted Cruz promises to take the gloves off our military.
He said that in the last debate.
Ted Cruz also refuted the ABC Debate Moderator’s foolish claim that water boarding is legally “torture”.
All in all, Ted Cruz’s comments were excellent, and I despise lawyers (mostly).
.
I saw Trump’s replay speech and love your post! WOOHOO! Trump Won YUGE! thanks again!
Megyn looked especially demonic tonight

Thanks to the Donald, I have her cycle down now.
And so many of us not adrift in hyperbole are anchored in reality.
Trump Delegates = 17
Cruz Delegates = 10
Bern got 60% of the votes and 13 delegates
Clinton got 38% of the vote and 15 delegates !!
shlonged again !
Re: “The voters are saying that they simply do not want her period and the DNC is trying to cram her down everyone’s throat.”
I can’t Believe that Bernie won by so much, but Hillary is getting 15 delegates over Bernies 13
Rush said a few days ago that Hillary was finished and would never be president. At the time I thought he was a bit hasty.
Now that I see what they did to Sandy in New Hampshire, they are going to make so many Sanders supporters so angry that if she gets the nomination I bet they stay home and tell her to go screw herself all over the country.
This is simply outrageous beyond words.
