Jeb Bush Finds His Stride In New Hampshire, But Is It Too Late?
NPR ^ | 2/9/16 | Jessica Taylor

Jeb Bush may finally be hitting his stride. The former Florida governor will find out Tuesday night whether that's too little, too late to save his White House hopes.

In the closing days of the New Hampshire race, Bush has seemed comfortable and more relaxed on the trail, as though he might even be enjoying it - and finally running that "joyful" campaign he imagined more than a year ago.

His final event Monday night in Portsmouth had more than 450 people who braved the increasingly treacherous, snow-covered roads. Bush even carried more chairs in himself as the room filled up.

Correct...promoting the softest target.

It would probably have worked, except nobody expected Trump to steal the show, and few expected Burney to make it competitive on the Dem side.

But they had a strategy that looked pretty solid a year ago.
OpChaos 2.0 could well have installed Jeb as the nominee based on Dem crossovers.

If he does well then wins South Carolina (due to Linda’s endorsement) I will KNOW our votes don’t count.

“Jeb Bush may finds his stride.”

Maybe if he could find his balls, that would be something.

I don’t think “finds his stride” is accurate. More likely, he continues every day to find that he is a loser and unelectable to any position other than pool boy in one of his rich family’s compounds.

My question would be why is his mom even with him? If he walks in ahead, he looks inconsiderate. And he sure doesn’t want to make every campaign stop pushing her ahead of him.

He just needs to go away. He’s an empty suit and we’re all tired of seeing him.

Good grief and Dear Lord.

WTH does finding his stride mean?

450 people attending one of his campaign events compared to 4,000 - 5,000 for Donald Trump!

That makes Jebro a 10 %-er at best!

Does finding his stride mean taking pot shots at Donald Trump at his events and in expensive TV ads that have left his campaign almost broke? LOL.

From the evidence I've seen, I think finding his stride means ... leaving his aged mother behind ...

Meanwhile Trump was only able to corral about 3000 at his event. Poor Donald.

Well .. if “finds his stride” means that he’s all over NH saying he won’t badmouth Obama .. or blame him for anything that’s gone wrong in America .. then I wish him good luck with that.

The DemocRATS of NH may be happy to hear that .. but I don’t think very many Repubs will be.

As much as some people may admire Jeb's parents and his brother... and in some ways I do; in some ways I don't... dragging that poor old lady out on the campaign trail is confirmation of the things Trump has said about him.

He hasn’t so much found his stride but has found a lot of liberal voters in Red Hampshire.

I hate to post this on an open forum where he might get some advantage from it, but here goes:

If he had a professional staff (instead of folks just wanting to get rich and party off the contributions) they’d pre-position his mother at key stops - maybe one in 3 or 4 to give time for setup - and he would come in, warmly greet her, kiss her on the cheek, and then swing into the shaking and gabbing. In other words, look like a dutiful son that puts mama over the campaign rhetoric. And she could use the extra time before he shows up to go mother-to-mother with some of the women. Then she should watch him as he works the room, displaying a maternal smile.

Instead, you see a selfish son who leaves his elderly mother to slog through the snow without him, and comes across as a spoiled mama’s boy.
