“HE IS NOT CONSERVATIVE.”

He’s more conservative than any Democrat. He would lose to any Democrat.

Morning ‘Miss’ Mayflower Madam,

To clear this up.

Which candidate do you have reference to?

Thanks.

I meant Trump. The poster I replied to, “One Lord...” is adamant that Trump isn’t conservative so he’s unacceptable.

I just meant that Trump may not be as conservative as some would like, but he’s more conservative than Hillary, Bernie, Biden, etc.

...if [Trump is] president, his legacy will be important to him, so failing is not an option.

You know, countless press stories have been written attacking Trump as vain, a braggard, a rich snob, mean guy, etc., etc.

But when I look at the guy's accomplishments, I see pride in workmanship.   I see a guy in love with building the finest skyscrapers, golf courses, hotels -- even his books and The Apprentice are works of genius.

You are absolutely right: his pride and legacy will not allow him to fail.   It's one of the best checks and balances we have on Trump!   And it's all to the good because he's an honest man who really cares about his fellow Americans.

Nope. We’ll write in for Cruz with good conscience.

Thanks, being dense (me!!!) seem to have a conflict with “He

would lose to any Democrat.”

Some have said polls show Trump would lose in the general to a Democrat. Is this what you are agreeing with?

Wouldn’t that apply to the Clintons, then? They are insiders and they really know how the game is played. They played it with Trump.

The Clintons suck the system dry, much of it tax money. Trump provides wonderful places to take vacations and creates good jobs for employees. How does that compare?

Some of us have learned that.

The rest of us will apparently have to learn it again.

Sure, over the years, Donald Trump has shown the same consistency to his conservative ideas as he has to his wives, but he seems to have settled on good ones right now and maybe he will continue to do so.

And if he wins the nomination we can cross our fingers and hope for the best.

Why would we pass over a proven constitutionalist for an unknown quantity?

And Trump isn't even more electable. Trump has unprecedented negatives and consistently underperforms Cruz and Rubio.

Why do you give Trump your trust? On what basis? It seems to me he’s made his attitude very clear over the years. Winners and losers, and the winners always deserve to win and losers had it coming. Imagine a situation in which you deal one-on-one with Trump for some hypothetical thing. What does he think of you? Is he going to be happy with a win-win outcome? Do you trust him now? He doesn’t care about Truth, just winning. There is absolutely no way you can be a winner in his mind, because if you are, he isn’t.

HE IS NOT CONSERVATIVE.

Trump removed all doubt when he defined conservatism as conserving money, or something.

It doesn't matter, though, because he's a populist.

I do not have to try to imagine that scenario - I will never be one-on-one with Trump.

You are right, he cares about winning. He is driven. And, I might add, so does everyone else in this race. They all care about winning. They are all in it to win it.

Trump doesn’t need money. He doesn’t need fame. He has both. The difference with Trump is he has nothing to gain but to fix America and, after he does he will stand on his soapbox and say he did it. It’s all about pride! No one else can say that. He’s bold and I like that!
