I agree. I phrased it badly. I mean everyone appears to be a conservative before an election. Cruz is the only presidential candidate proven to be a conservative AFTER the election.

Yep. I'm much happier voting for someone if I can see their voting record in the house or senate, or what they've done as governor. I'll vote for Trump if he's the Republican presidential nominee, but I won't be too happy about it, because I suspect Carter got it right with the "malleable" comment, and I don't think Trump would be all that much different than your average Democrat when it comes to governing.
