GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson suggested that the controversy over Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)'s campaign action during the Iowa caucus might be on the minds of voters ahead of the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday.
"I suspect it may well," Carson told Breitbart News. "We were in church this morning and the minister sort of alluded to it, talking about Christian values and politics."
Just ahead of the vote, the Cruz campaign sent out notes and voicemails to precinct captains telling them to tell Carson voters that he would be suspending his campaign and to support Cruz instead. The Cruz campaign has said it only passed along a news report from CNN.
"I've said all along that the evidence is pretty clear and it should be very easy for people to make a judgment on this," Carson said in response to a CNN statement, which it issued Saturday night that said Cruz "knowingly misstated" CNN's pre-caucus report.
"The only issue is, is this acceptable behavior to voters? Obviously, it's acceptable behavior to Washington politicians," he said.
The Washington Post reported Cruz approached Carson during a commercial break during the debate Saturday night and requested a private meeting.
Carson told Breitbart News that he hopes Cruz dismisses the staff that was involved in spreading the false report.
"I would like to see something happen that would more or less ensure that this kind of thing does not continue to happen," Carson explained when asked what he would like to see come out of a private meeting with Cruz.
"I kind of look at it when you find a problem, you fix it, you just don't sort of sweep it under the rug," Carson explained.

OOH! Nice analogy there, I hear the hyper of bole.
If that had been done to you guys, you’d be miffed, too. Campaigns should know better than to take the word of one news outlet for news like that. Why would anyone quit their campaign when people are in the process of voting, it did not make sense, anyway.
If it was a sincere apology, Cruz would have already fired the staffer
responsible.
Little if any negative effect expected

And now it is up to "Evil" status. You're simply an idiot. Tweeting a CNN story, even one with poorly-worded details, is not "evil", nor shall it ever be.
No one wants to say it but Carson is not wired tight.
Why did Cruz apologize since he’d already gone record saying nothing wrong was done and no one would be disciplined.
Only politicians apologize just because they think it will make a problem go away without really admitting they did anything wrong. Just listen to Hillary talking about Benghazi.
Equivocation.
For what it’s worth, I see no signs of Carson fighting in SC. No radio nor TV ads, nothing in the mail. And I mean nothing at all. So how serious is he, really, especially with that huge war chest he’s mounted.
Liz I respect your posts but you’re better than this.
Got a link?
Cruz is a slimy DC politician weasel. Why he had to push rumors in Iowa to try to get votes from the only African American in the race is a mystery. He probably saw himself losing ground in Iowa and panicked.
If all Canadians treat blacks like Cruz it’s no wonder they don’t want to go there.
We all knew this was not going away.
Following the mailer fiasco with the willingness to play dumb and take votes was a bridge too far for one week in one state and affected too many caucuses, if not all of them, but we will never know, will we?
The problem is there were vague references to Cruz’s likeability previously, but his team of top advisers who know just how much they can get away with haven’t done him any favors. I doubt whether he will be able to shake this off before Super Tuesday especially now that SNL and the other late night comics have picked up on it.
” Trump questioned Carson’s faith. It was all in all very nasty.”
...................................
Was Trump correct? Won’t broach the other accusation!!
So it’s Iowa’s fault Ted’s campaign did what they did?
Your delusions don’t match with reality...but that is YOUR problem.
