The single-most buzzed-about moment from Saturday night's Republican presidential debate was Marco Rubio's repetition of a line about Barack Obama that he continued using even after New Jersey Governor Chris Christie busted him on it. On Sunday morning, Rubio returned to the scene of the crime, ABC News, and This Week host George Stephanopoulos led off the interview by asking Rubio "What went wrong" to make Rubio go back to that rehearsed phrase so many times.
Rubio took an interesting tack with Stephanopoulos, defending his repetition of the talking point by repeating it three more times:

If you notice they tend to have quite a few key things in common. Typically (but not always) fatherless, drug use, homosexuality, promiscuity, years unaccounted for abroad, sealed records and now we are seeing a pattern of shaky citizenship-which may just be that 30-40 years ago when they began grooming them the country was predominately European heritage and it was more difficult to find these ethnicities. That would fully explain why we are seeing such strong representation with Cubans. 30-40 years ago, Cubans and Puerto Ricans would be who were the more plentiful of the "hispanics".
what was that line in forrest gump that the mother always told her son?
The robot blew a fuse.
Exactly!
Yeah... why was Carson hanging back? That was weird. Trump appeared to hang back as well. What do you suppose was going on?
I'm in no way comparing Marco Rubio to the Apostle John; rather, my point is that, after watching the debate and the clip of Rubio this morning, I think people on both the left and the right who already hate Rubio for other reasons are making too much out of this. It really doesn't bother me that he keeps repeating himself because what he says is true and, in fact, can't be repeated enough.
Ben Carson did not hear his name called because the audience was making too much noise. So he waited. Other candidates were called and just walked by Carson. Trump waited with Carson so he wouldn’t be left standing there by himself. Finally, Carson’s name was called again. Trump waited for Carson’s welcoming applause to die down before he entered.
Class act.
Rubio is starting to stutter, politically speaking.
Acceptance or promotion of Amnesty renders one a de facto Democrat, no matter what other positions one might sincerely or not so sincerely hold. An Amnesty would in a short time provide a permanent large majority of legal votes for the Democrats. It would be permanent because the voting would in only a couple of cycles, maybe less, become strictly a show process as was the electoral process which was faithfully carried out throughout history of the USSR.
Software glitch - flawed replicant...
I know it sounds bizarre but over and over the establishment shoves that type of candidate on us. I have never seen someone able to stand up to them like Trump has. Time will tell how this all works out....hoping for the best!
“”It really doesn’t bother me that he keeps repeating himself because what he says is true and, in fact, can’t be repeated enough.””
You are right. I don’t understand all the criticism as what Rubio said was absolutely true and what on earth was wrong with repeating it? I fail to understand especially why so many here don’t understand why he was doing it. It wasn’t scripted - it was how he truly feels and exactly what I would have done. If he hadn’t used it again after Christie’s remarks, then the same people criticizing him here would be yelling that he didn’t have a backbone. Rubio CAN’T win no matter what he says or does - the people here are too well programmed to dislike him. Can’t disagree or you might stand out in the FR crowd. I’ve said for 7 years that obozo never lied about being transparent...he’s so transparent, you can see right through him. We know what he’s going to do or say before he does it! And the man knows exactly WHAT he’s doing to this country and lovin’ it!!!
I agree.
I believe that Dr. Carson just didn’t hear the signal that he was supposed to proceed to the stage. I noticed how the others directly after him, not sure who they were, just breezed on by him without a thought. It was Mr. Trump who clued in that he was standing there when he shouldn’t have been, and perhaps thought that something was wrong.
I though it was very telling that he stopped and stayed with Dr. Carson and made sure there wasn’t a problem, then they both went out individually after they were called upon. It showed character, IMHO.
Thanks for the explanation!
Thanks for the explanation!
I don’t know if it’s accurate. That was just my take on it. I watched it unfold and it was definitely uncomfortable.
I think it makes sense. Definitely uncomfortable.
