Carson says an apologetic Cruz asked for a meeting at debate (busTED)
Washington Post ^ | 2/7/16 | Robert Costa

Ben Carson said late Saturday that Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas approached him during an off-camera break at ABC’s Republican debate to apologize for his campaign’s conduct during the Iowa caucuses and requested a one-on-one meeting with him.

“He said he’s sorry that this happened and he wants to sit down and talk,” Carson said in an interview with The Washington Post. “He wants to discuss the whole thing and clear the air.”

In the interview, Carson said pointedly that if the meeting with Cruz is scheduled, that does not mean the the senator will be absolved.

“The evidence is there,” he said, citing voice-mails that his campaign has released of Cruz allies telling caucus-goers that Carson was likely to suspend his bid. “Tapes, written communications, it’s all out there. People have to decide whether this kind of behavior is acceptable to them.”

If you play a game of telephone, and people start adding their interpretation to the message going around, but each person believes, whole-heartedly, that their interpretive addition is true, you can get an erroneous message, without a single person saying something they believe to be false. If you know anything about large organizations, you know this happens all the time. People don’t mean to convey false information, but they can’t help interpreting it. Once that gets into the flow, it’s hard to stop.

For my part, as a Christian, I have always tried to live by the principle stated in 1 Cor 13, that love thinks no evil. In other words, we give the other party the benefit of the doubt to the extent it is possible to do so. If Ted calls this a mistake, and owns up to the organizational error that led to it, that’s good enough for me. To the best of my knowledge, there is simply no smoking gun to show that any person in the communication chain believed they were stating a falsehood at any time.

For example, we have that smoking gun with Hillary and the Benghazi emails, a direct contradiction by the same person at the same time to two different parties. That would hold up as legal proof of an intentional lie.

But at most with the Cruz organization you have people looking at Carson’s unusual moves as his organization implodes and interpreting it in a reasonable way, and then not paying attention to other inputs that could have corrected it, and altogether no evidence, AFAIK, that Carson was in fact impacted by the error. None of that rises to the level of anything more than a typical organizational communication error, happening at high speed, where those things are most likely to occur.

Peace,

SR

Let me tell you a secret you need to take back to your camp.

Trump teamsters are sinking their own ship.

Trump won’t win without Cruz supporters. Take that to the bank and cash it.

Y’all keep spitting in our faces and trying your dead level best to destroy a CONSERVATIVE because you’ve lost your damned minds over a circus clown who jumps up and down acting like some spoiled brat who can’t take an inkling of criticism.... keep it up and you won’t win the nomination nor the presidency because we’re bailing. Why would wouldn’t we. It’s sick to watch people act like raging mob over a
serial adulterer who buys his way out of everything...and pissed all over private property rights for his own monetary gain..... if Barack Obama had done that, you guys would blowing FR server up with your outrage. And you seek...like wild animals, to destroy a good man. I wish you could see yourselves. Like rabid dogs you aim to DESTROY a man that MOST of you stood behind and supported. A man that most of you cheered on when he smacked Rubio and the gang of 8 down with his “poison pill” 2 years ago. Now some of those very same Freepers who were all about the poison pill tactic he used to save the country from amnesty...some of those very same Freepers are acting like clueless liberals who have no idea how congress works, or bills are passed or what a poison pill is.
Freepers, MANY Freepers are some of the smartest people that exist. I have learned so much here over the years as have many others.
So for some of you who have been here for YEARS to all of sudden act like they don’t know squat about poison pills or private property rights or caucuses just so they can stay in lock step with a man who is screaming MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, when he was part of the reason it’s SCREWED UP with his hefty donations to OPEN BORDER candidates running against secure border anti-tea party candidates! HE’S PART OF THE PROBLEM. It’s the most disgusting thing I’ve seen in a while.

I wish you guys had some self awareness to see have repulsive you’ve become in many of our eyes. Yea you have a loud voice and drown out anyone. Congratulations. But the mockery of Christianity and scriptures and TRUTH and conservatism in your camp, along with your loud and gross displays of hatred are increasingly looking like a place where most of us who are trying to stand by our principles, don’t want to hang our hat.

And the sad part is you guys REALLY aren’t stupid. You know better. You know the game and you KNEW if you’re successful at destroying our candidate and he drops, you will need us. In a bad way. You know it and you can’t help yourselves.

Congratulations. You’ll probably succeed in helping destroy the only conservative left because I’m telling you, you’ve got the liberals beat this time on your savagery. Rail away keyboard warriors. We Cruzers are exhausted and MOST of us are more concerned with helping save our country than defending off vicious lies and attacks. But it’s more important to you all to spread the same lies over and over and get your pot shots just like your God Trump. Our priorities are different I guess. But we’re tired trying to defend the very values we used to could come to FR and have sharpened. You all act like we’re your enemy. You act like the country is not nearly as important to us, like we’re not all grieving over what our country has become. You act like we haven’t worked hard and want the best for our families. Like we are some David Koresh cult who just forgets everything to follow some HORRIBLE Christian man. And laugh and mock and can’t wait to see our “bubbles burst” when Ted goes down in flames. But again, congratulations, you’ve drowned us out. I hope it was worth it in the end. You’ll still be standing. Alone. With a very wealthy smart-ass clown, who will zip away in his private jet and you won’t hear from him again, while Cruz is still be in the Senate fighting the REAL enemy and the next communist in the White House, day in and out for you and me.

Enjoy your victory while you can, for it will be short lived.

That isn’t what CNN said?

What’s your point.

Carson suspended his campaign twice before also.

No quite the humble saint he portrays himself as. He has shown he can the “politics as usual game” as well as the rest of them. But besides that, he really isn’t qualified to be president. Hermain Cain from 4 years ago was much more qualified

Carson was at best a 3rd or 4th place finisher at best. He could man up and use that for the best of the country or be a little chocolate bitch about it. He keeps choosing the second path. Pathetic. I fell for it and seriosly considered him as my first or second choice for my vote, I am left empty handed again. It’s not about their bravado it’s about my country!!!!!!

Rage hard. Typical nasty rage from a Cruzer. If you guys are representative of Cruz himself, no wonder the entire senate dislikes him.

I agree with you so much you have no idea...I don't like any of them on either side...

so my only hope is I believe Trump can make jobs and I bet he will lower the business taxes... both of those things will help the American people. I just might stay home. We need the salt of the earth folks that love American to run for off office, don't think that is going to happened.

It seems to me you just denied the scriptures in your post to me ...

You cannot have it both ways; own your words.

Your right. They they won’t run. They have been sold as racist, sexist, backwards, ..... So they keep going to work and taking care of their families.

Here is a secret America - what makes this country great is the individual pursuit of meaningful employed life that takes care of their family.

It’s no simpler. With economic freedom comes all the other freedoms. Individual liberty is the foundation. Destroy that and we are finished. They are so very close to destroying it through generational debt slaverry.

I repudiate that debt. It’s not mine and I refuse to pay it.
