When you go through a two-year eminent domain court case like the one I and my family went through some years ago, you will have cause to comment on something you and most folks know little to nothing about. I know it from the inside out.
Mr. Trump was spot on in everything he said and has been saying about eminent domain...a subject which inspires scare talk, anecdotal horror stories, misinformation and outright lies among the uninformed.

Right, like the absolute lie he told about people getting rich from it. Yeah, that’s why he and his Atlantic City cronies offered her 25% of what a previous offer was when they resorted to using eminent domain to get rid of her.
Can’t wait to see his line there superimposed on a screen with his face and the facts underneath on the 1 million offer being reduced to 250K for the eminent domain railroading he tried to use.

Most all of the million or so eminent domain takings every year end up fair to the owner. Every now and then some local pols try to game the system by taking 1/2 of someone’s house, or just the front yard, or putting a overpass above them, offering less than FMV, or whatnot. But, without eminent domain, no shopping center or pipeline could ever be built.
Opposition to eminent domain is an appealing theoretical cause on a micro level. Like being opposed to license plates or zoning ordinances. Advanced by nuts and the few unfortunate folks that had a bad result.
Shame he was not aware of Jebbie’s own eminent domain problem when he ordered to kill thousands of private citrus trees in their back yards and maybe law suits still going on ???
