During Saturday night's ABC News debate, co-moderator Martha Raddatz, a personal friend of Barack Obama's, asked Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) an incredibly dumb gotcha question premised on the idea that Cruz is some kind of war-monger, but only when he wants to be. Cruz was first about the news that, in violation of treaty, North Korea launched fired a long-range rocket Saturday.
Cruz gave an impressive and detailed answer about North Korean threat that included legitimate criticism of President Clinton's mishandling of his failed nuclear deal. Raddatz then attacked: ...

She was literally backing away from him. As though had the flu and was going to sneeze on her.

and WHY is she asking questions at this debate?
Martha was definitely upset when Cruz didn’t play ball in her little game of gotcha.
She kept repeating herself on civilian casualties, like she couldn’t get it in her head that you have to fight back.
Well the media is throwing a bone to Cruz. He clearly was in the bottom half tonight at best. But if it makes everyone feel better then good on Cruz for his brief moment of ok.

Yeah. He sucks. I want to see the credit card receipt. I think he will fall in the polls.....the governors will rise and the two senators will drop. Carson might get a percent or two rise. Trump will rise a lot.

It’ll show if the debates matter, because if they do, Rubio should drop like a rock after this.
Yeah. I think he falls to fourth......but Cruz falls too....not a great debate for him either. The Governors hit the Senators pretty hard.
I mean WTF!? She wanted an answer if he thought we should blow the dam thing up on the launch pad?
I would have laughed if he said that since she brought it up, that she could push the button to launch the rocket to destroy the thing.

He gave a perfect answer to that question. It was a gotcha, but he went deep into the situation and the broader context of horrible deals and connected it to the current deal Obama made with Iran.
Wonder how many of the other candidates have a staffer looking up “Wendy Sherman”... I know at least 2 that are doing that tonight.
I also thought Cruz really rose above the rest by not getting into the petty stuff the moderators tried to get him into with Trump at the start.
Cruz keeps showing why he is the best candidate. He doesn't get ruffled under pressure.
On immigration he was clearly the best!
Not at all. He got a stupid question, and he re-framed and gave the answer he wanted the American people to hear.
My watch stopped when I looked at that face.
