I believe she was demanding much, much more for the property than twice its value. (Trump doesn’t make bad deals.)
Trump offered her $500,000 (I think), many times more than it was worth, she wanted to get him to up the annie. Trump let go of it, and it was sold for a fraction of the cost years later.
